Hi I am going to launch self development blog. I am looking for domain name by my self but I would appreciate help. Few guidelines: What my blog is about: It is about searching for what makes successful people successful. It is about destroy limits of mind. It is about focusing on things which matter. These lines comes from few of my core beliefs: It is about what you know and what you can do not about conditions you live in. Only limits are in your mind. You should be doing what you love, what does matter and get rid of everything else Rules for domain name: 1. It is for non English site so you can write down English domains which are taken. I will translate it to my language to see if it sounds good. It could be even non English, Latin words or symbols. It would be awesome if people would be curious about origin of domain name. 2. It should be short and unforgettable. 3. I don't like hype domain names like success.com or perfectlife.com or IamAwesome.com etc Any tips appreciated. |

If you don't like hype domain names (good call), then something simple like your name or a variation thereof could work, much like StevePavlina.com. Sorry, I realize that prob doesn't help much. May I ask what language it will be in? Is it your native language, or is your native language English? I think a lot of people on here are planning or in the midst of developing a self-development blog. In fact, I keep considering a certain self-development web project myself. I just need to find the right people to collaborate with... |

I think you should take one of two paths. a domain name that inspires but sais what it does on the tin or you should have your name. Ultimately it will be the content that really matters! Dave |

Use exactly what comes to your mind first! Id say the simpler the better. If you are feeling cloudy there is a pretty neato domain name generator at nameboy.com. You basically type two words that describe what your website is about and then from there it will come up with available domain names in real time! If anything it will at least spark some ideas for you! Try it out! I hope you find that perfect name!

Look at the words and phrases from your description: searching, people, successful, destroy limits, mind, focus, matter, what you know, what you can do, love, get rid of everything else Are there any good terms in there that you do not consider "hype words"? If so, combine a couple into a good domain name. If not, either use your own name or keep writing until you can describe your site without using hype words. |
