Default Blogger 101: Step-By-Step on How You Can Make Money from A Free Blog

Hello my friends and fellow forum members,

It’s my pleasure to share with you what I have learnt over the years as a blogger on how to make residual income from free blogs.

It might interest you to know that blogger.com is owned by Google. So, any blog created on blogger gets indexed faster than blogs on wordpress and others.

Before you create your blog you have to choose your keyword carefully and wisely. I prefer long tail keywords or phrases because they have low competition.

Lets assume that your chosen niche is “dating”. You need a keyword research tool such as SEO Book Tool in order to get a long tail keyword under “dating”. One of the long tail keywords or phrases you can get is “advice for teenage dating”.

Now, you have a long tail keyword then the next thing is to create a (free) blog. Just go to blogger.com and click on the tab “CREATE A BLOG” . Your blog name and title must contain the long tail keywords or phrases you chose. So, your blog has to be in this form: adviceforteenagedating.blogspot.com.

Then, you have to put adsense on the blog. All you have to do to start seeing Google ads on your blog is to apply for Google adsense – you dont pay for the ads to be displayed on your blog rather you are paid when any of your blog followers or visitors click on the ads. This is called Pay Per Click (PPC) Campaign.

The best way is to configure your blog in such a way that the ads are displayed between your blog posts and that 1 or at most 2 posts are shown on a page.

Then, start posting quality informative tips that are related to teenage dating on your blog regularly, at least 4 or 5 times every week. If you don’t know what to write, you can get ideas from article directories such as ezinearticles.com and goarticles.com. Just re-write articles you get from there so that you wont run into trouble of stealing someone’s content or having duplicate content.

Now, you need to generate traffic to your blog. So, what you need to do is to write quality articles and submit them to popular article directories such as ezinearticles.com and goarticles.com. Also, write press releases and send them PR.com. You have to remember to write quality author’s bio because that will be the source of your traffic. The links on your article’s resource box or author’s bio are the source of your traffic and traffic is the source of the money you want to make.

The next thing you have to do is to get a product from ClickBank.com, which you would like to promote. But, you have to register as a ClickBank affiliate – the registration is FREE. The registration is meant for you to get an affiliate ID. Promote the product on your blog by writing honest and excellent reviews of the product.

I recommend that you promote membership sites or products on your blog so you can be earning recurring commission monthly or annually, without lifting a finger!

Cheers,
Raymond Edeh

If you submit an article to ezinearticles or goarticles, can you post the article to your site as well?

If not, it doesn't seem worth it to me because most of those articles seem like they have only 400 or so views, and I can't imagine a very high percentage follow through to the website.

Articles you submitted to ezinearticles or goarticles are your articles so you have every right in this part of the solar system to post the exact same articles to your site.

I have been doing that for years and the result has been impressive. My strategy is: submit the article to ezinearticles, and post them to my site/blog once the article has been approved by the article directory. Then post it to goarticles.com.

Best wishes,
Raymond Edeh

runningbird - don't submit duplicate material anywhere. Google absolutely hates duplicates. Always put out unique stuff. It means a lot of extra work when article marketing, but is worth it in the end. As for getting traffic - this all depends on getting keywords right and then getting backlinks.

hm, Ok. Thanks for the heads up. Although tailoring work to fit niche keywords seems like such a sell-out strategy.

The main reason to submit articles is to get inbound links, not traffic. Some people hardly get any traffic from there (I got 8 visitors), but you will greatly increase your PR, which will increase the amount of Google visitors in the future.
Just submit to the top 12 article sites, or the first 4/8 of them. I think many people believe it is strongly advisable that you don't post the articles on your own site, but you can post the same article on more than one article submission site.

PR 6 Sites...
ezinearticles.com (Alexa: 254)
buzzle.com (2,574) - doesn't accept already indexed articles-submit here first
selfgrowth.com (14,072)
goarticles.com (21,336)

PR 5 Sites...
articlesbase.com (1,759) - I believe it doesn't pass PR
articlealley.com (21,763)
articledashboard.com (26,600)
articlecity.com (47,930)

PR 4...
searchwarp.com (8,199)
amazines.com (36,642)
articlesfactory.com (37,033)
articlebiz.com (55,353)

What does pagerank, and "pass pagerank" mean?

Default Re: What Is PageRank

PageRank is Google's system for ranking web pages. It ranges from 0 to 10.
0 is the lowest rank while 10 is the highest.

You can find out how to improve your site's PageRank here:
