Default Twitter

Is anybody here using Twitter successfully with their business? If so, do you tweet through a personal account or a business account?

I tweet personally, although I'm starting to think of my blog as a business

Publicity, free publicity

If you sign up for the newsletter and I guess read the blog, you'll find some tips. The only thing I've seen are webminars focused on tweeting for business, too. No experience personally, I don't tweet.

I use Twitter and mix business and personal... I just make a genuine effort to connect and share, and the best way to do that is if people have a more accurate idea of me all around... who I am as a business person, what I'm up to, as well as who I am personally.

It helps that my business is to help empower others - so people welcome promos as well as personal notes.

Great feedback, thanks guys. I like the idea of tweeting personally -- putting a face behind the business. I wonder through from a branding perspective if it's wiser to focus efforts on branding the company vs. the people behind it.

Chris, is there a way for me to see how you've been using twitter with your business before I sign up for an account (not that it's a big deal, I just don't want to go through the process twice if I decide to flip business vs. personal)

Definitely - just go check my Twitter link in my signature. I mix business / personal even more with my Facebook account... but on Twitter I still share a little bit about playing with my son, resources I like, etc. I actually want to have more personal stuff on Twitter, but since I go with the flow I never know what exactly I'm going to post
