Truth to be told, I only have RM1.10 ($0.30) in my pocket right now But, money isn't my main problem right now, because I'll be getting my scholarship next week. And I can make money selling some of my stuffs (like this lovely laptop of mine) My main problem now is I don't know how to receive money from creating values and delivering it. Create and deliver value, what a concept! I've read about it 2 weeks ago but never tried it before. But, thanks to my depressing financial situation right now, I've decided to give this concept a shot. (I think I'm actually been forced to do it) I'm excited about making this 'love money'. Being paid for doing stuff that you love, wow! I want some advices or suggestions, try to put yourself in my shoes. You're a 20 years old student, who is surrounded by... 'normal' students and lecturer. And you've decided that you don't want to be employed after you graduate. K. My 5 strengths from stregthsfinder (I think it's about time I capitalize my strentghs) 1. Adaptability- live in the 'now'; thrive on chaos and able to think clearly even in chaotic situations (like now 2. Connectedness- Sensitive to the 'master's plan' 3. Empathy- Able to sense the emotion of others 4. Input- Able to process large quantity of informations 5. Intellection- Love mental activities, especially thinking Besides that, I know 5 languages (learning Russian right now), and I like learning languages, especially writing it. The stranger the writing system, the better. (Arabic and Hebrew are my next targets.) And, I have the ability to 'read' people, not through some psychic abilities but through their handwriting. though not entirely accurate (I'm not an expert), but it have helped me along the way. And... nobody in this world know that I have this ability I love to read, and 70% of books are fiction. And most fiction are the classics from the past (Shakespere, Verne, Poe etc.) I typically read around 300 - 500 pages per day. If you ask me what is the most productive habit, I would say it's the habit of reading books. I also have some talents in drawing. no, not animes, I don't like to draw those. I usually will do a random google image search and draw whatever comes up. Or, I'll just find whatever I found on the street and draw those. Oh, I usually throw away the pictures I drew. Couple of my friends have seen my drawings... and they complimented it. wow, it felt great at that time. Alas, I threw the drawings away. I've decided that I want to keep my drawings from now on. My course? I'm taking Electronic Engineering. I've decided to change my purpose for taking this course. Instead of taking it for the sake of 'safe and secure' jobs, I'll try to use my knowledge in engineering to create automatons that can replace human in menial jobs. I'll be learning some other stuffs along the way, but I accept that Usually, I don't type long posts in a forum. But, I kind of love it, especially revealing myself. (Maybe I should reveal my abilities after all). Must I mention that I'm a bit of a Machiavellian (whatever works). Purpose? Well, in short I want me and others around me to be the most intelligent we could ever become. (This sounds great in every perspective I can consider) I'm more of an introvert but I could easily go up to a stranger, says 'hi' and be his/her friend that instant. I remember one time where I just go to a basketball court, approach a stranger and ask him to teach me to play basketball. Same thing happen in the library. I don't know how to write articles, leave alone a book. I did do some poetry and short stories, but, like my drawings I threw it away right after I finish making them. (I've decided to store them too from now on) I think I want to be polyphasic, sure it's a lot of challenge. I don't know if it's healthy, but I'll try it. But, I know that deep down, my current financial situation is the main reason for me to turn polyphasic. I think I already got some ideas how to make money from doing stuffs I like, but maybe I need some extra support from you guys to get started. I can't make myself to approach a girl and say "can I look at your handwriting?" I sound more like a pickup artist than a handwriting expert. Oh, I forgot to mention, I already have a reputation for being the weirdest person in my social circle. By being polyphasic I can increase my weirdness. I'll wait for your reply. create and deliver value, what a concept!. *This post is my longest post ever! Long post is loooooooong.* |

I'm sorry I'm probably not going to be helpful as you'd like. Get a job, start a blog, a webpage, freelance... All of these things are just vehicles to get your value from you to the market. Firstly I would think about what value you want to bring to people. It sounds like you are a people person and relate well with strangers. In your situation I would be looking to be employed and learn everything you can from your employer about running a business (might also give you more ideas about robotic automation). Perhaps if that really isn't what you want to do have you thought about maybe helping students with language troubles. or maybe any kind of tutoring. |

You can speak and write that many languages? It sounds like you have the making of a very profitable business. Why don't you consider starting a language blog that focuses on teaching people other languages. You can mix up content between Audio, Video, and Written content. You could create a complete active learning environment for people looking to learn another language... Oh, and, to boot, you can offer language consulting services where you offer professional translation and / or tutoring. Now, what are you going to do about making this business? |

I have the privilege of knowing 4 languages when I was a teen. Japanese is the first foreign language that I CONSCIOUSLY learn. Like I said, I learn certain languages because of they have strange alphabets. Take Russian for example, you have that strange 'pi' signs; and not to mention that funny looking alphabet that is always used when chatting But, I... well. I decided that I can not wait any longer and decided to study arabic and hebrew, and this was some days ago. 'Aleph Beyt' (Hebrew), 'Aleph Ba Ta' (Arabic), 'Alphabet' (English). Is it me or they share some things in common? Well... like my handwriting analyzing skill, none of my friends know my strange fascination toward languages. Tutoring...? Hmmm.................... |
