Default Resources for implementing world-class customer service

Recently I had the privilege of meeting Tony Hsieh who runs Zappos and he impressed upon me that Zappos is a customer service company that just happen to sell shoes. It has gotten me thinking about how important customer service is to companies these days and how I'm really interested in making a service-oriented culture the ethos of my companies.

I'm wondering what resources there are out there for learning more about how to implement world-class customer service. I'd love to read more about companies like Zappos, Southwest, Four Seasons, etc. and how they approach this. Any blogs, podcasts, books, etc. that any of you would recommend?

Wow! Are you going to write more about your meeting with Tony? I would be very interested in hearing about that conversation!

You know who else's customer service really impresses me? Virgin America Air -- I recently flew with them for the first time and they knocked my socks off, from the time I booked my flight till the time I left the plane. Also AEG -- the company that runs Staples Center and Home Depot Center.

Seth's Blog talks often about the topic.
