If you still have a legal address somewhere that can receive government mail that you will read I don't think that you are homeless in the sense that you violate a law. However in some areas sleeping on the street might also be illegal. |

I don't think that there is a law that says "thou shall rent or own a home." Trespassing is prohibited in most countries and there maybe laws or regulations that state you can't sleep in the streets, but being homeless in itself isn't outlawed. |

There is no such thing as voluntary homelessness, from the law's point of view. They are laws against things such as vagrancy, loitering, refusal to leave a public place / trespassing / being in a park after closing time, indecent exposure (eg peeing in the park because all bathrooms are closed), etc |
