My future begins today. Without Steve, this would not be possible. Take this as a tangible result of the work you've done. Not your marketing skills, but your commitment to growth and learning. So thanks. 2 for 1 Christmas Special is awesome. One website is for my mother and her new business. Note: She was laid off first week of November of this year, due to the economic recession. Now, we're coming back, but unlike the other hard times she's had, now we're going to build something ourselves. No more employee lifestyle for her. When I get a website up for myself and her, I'll tell you guys. Thanks for the support Pavlina forums! I hope this is the correct forum. When I get a website up this can turn into a fruitful and educational discussion |

Thanks guys! I've done a lot of research. I've noticed many interesting things in the discussions I've had with other SBIers, both personally and through the forums. There is a certain danger with creating models of how things work too quickly. Models blind you to external influences that may hold pertinent information to whatever solution you are providing. The people that make the best content are those that approach model building reluctantly. These people are open to understanding new ways of looking at reality without needing to "solidify" it too quickly. With this in mind, I've seen a disposition for most people, actually probably everyone, to possess BLINDSPOTS towards conflicting realities. The people at SBI talk about business from the small business perspective. Because their system duplicates itself for "anyone with an idea", they cannot promise extravagant riches. They put up blindspots towards those who are extremely rich, the millionaires and billionaires. There are certain qualities that these businesses possessed that most small business did not. There are things about business I've learned from reading about book publishing and public speaking that the small business community does not touch on. I find this intriguing - good public speakers can make $10,000 or more from a single speech. When you buy SBI you buy a certain business model. This model is primarily internet based. The system can always be refined. It is through an effective SYSTEM of business, combined with good value, that vast riches can be acquired. So I will continue to learn about different systems, different models, different ways of looking at business from other often disparate fields. It is through the merging of these fields that new potential is created. In fact, this is where the realm of genius is concerned. Geniuses make connections far more readily than the general population. This is why the best poetry is not constrained within the realm of form, fact, and figure but through metaphor. Metaphor is extremely powerful in the literary world, and, metaphorically speaking, is extremely powerful in the cognitive and business world. Yeah, these are my cogent thoughts on everything I've read about business and value-distribution (as I like to call it) so far. |

Ya know - Keyword brainstorming is a very gratifying experience. To be given the tools to do good research, to see an idea of yours come alive, perhaps to the eventual benefit of the whole world - it's very gratifying. I'd rather do this than watch TV or mooch off other people. |

Heh heh I think I'm going to join soon too. Still deciding though. I have been meaning to start a website and get some hosting and a domain so this is the chance. I do have access to the SBI forums though just then without joining SBI though |

I just purchased SBI And the funny thing is I purchased it at exactly 11:11... hahahaha I just noticed that when I purchased. Does that mean I'm on track? There's always the 30 day money back guarantee so I'll decide if it's worth it by giving it a shot and seeing how good it is compared to Joomla.. but it looks pretty good with all the research I've done. oh yeah thanks Fullcrum for recommending me those 'free' videos and the action guide. Those resources helped me learn more about them and how awesome they really are. |

I was wondering this to...I'm not 100% sure but I think if you build two sites this year each one will cost you $300 to renew next year. | |

I got mine refunded heh heh It wasn't for me. I could build a website myself with the help of my dad now using Joomla. Joomla can do everything pretty much everything quickly and you don't need to know the technical details. At the moment though I don't plan to build any websites so SBI is a complete waste of money. |

I've come up with about 15 pages since Christmas Eve. I really like SBI...I think some of the limitations of the Site Build It program actually instill discipline in beginners. Discipline that is crucial to succeed online. Made .56 cents so far on adsense..but I'm not even trying to monetize yet..just put adsense on a couple of pages to test out. It feels right. P.S please take a look around my site..would love your feedback. I'm in the process of adding their Content 2.0 in order to be able to allow my visitors to submit their own wine reviews. |

Thanks for your critique. I agree on the white space..SBI is coming out with some new templates and I'm going to jump on those...in the meantime..I'm focusing strictly on building valuable content.... I have a friend that has also recently started with different web host company..he has a nice look and feel to his site..but no content... gotta keep focused on the content...the prettying up will come later |

I just bookmarked your site to keep a track of its development. Hopefully it will give me more ideas when I decide to go online. Ok, i wanted to know how easy/difficult it is to change templates when you are in the live environment i.e when you have a client base. What is the downtime? Also I would like to know, what is your method of gathering content. How much effort is required & how do you make it interesting. Just to share with you I am working on a business model which I am very passionate about. My focus is first to create real value for the target audience & later to monetize. Steve is my role model here |

Dev, There is no downtime. You can just re-write pages at your leisure, so if you use the SBI BlockBuilder tool, each page will remain in place until you choose to upload a new one. SBI says it can take up to 20 minutes to rebuild your site but often the changes are done within seconds. I prefer to upload my own HTML pages to Site Build It (as do many others), so you can upgrade each page on your computer and then do a mass upload at the end. The new design is up within seconds across the entire site. Content gathering is easy if you know your subject matter. Otherwise, you can probably double the time it would take if you just wrote off the top of your head. What makes it interesting is your passion for the subject, your personal anecdotes and opinions, and your ability to connect with readers - by talking to them straight. Offer them something they can't get anywhere else. Your strategy of content first, monetizing later is spot on! People often get sidetracked trying to make a few dollars off AdSense in the early days but in fact this can damage your initial Google Indexing. Its better in the long run to 'work for free' in those early days and reap the rewards later. |

Thanks for your feedback Rebecca. I visited your site, liked the eye-catching layout & instantly bookmarked it. I have always felt that the webpages should make the first time visitor love it at first sight. Your site has done that to me. Your tip on content gathering was very helpful. I think I need to have some more clarity on 'connecting with readers -talking straight to them' Maybe I need to take some communication classes to hone this skill. Maybe a good book to read on this. |

Rebecca I love your template? Where can I obtain similar? Dev - I suggest that when you begin writing your content, write it like you were writing an email to a friend. What will be unique about your site will be your writing style, people need to feel they know you even though they never met you.. I'm learning to relax my style one html page at a time. Check out my last wine review: Gato Negro 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Review and compare to my first wine review: Santa Ema 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Write efficiently and stylishly ....like Steve does.....if you are funny...let it come through...if you are deadpan serious...let that come through too...and then make fun of yourself.... I think you need to get to the point where you are writing for the fun of it..if it becomes a chore and you find yourself dreading the writing of the next page....this may not be your cup of tea. |

Thanks boris. Writing content thinking that you are writing to a friend - this suggestion of yours has given me a new perspective. Steves writing is ofcourse always inspirational. I also checked out & compared both of your writings. I appreciate the change, its really good. Now I know, that if I need more info or recommend a friend for anything related to wine, where I should be heading to first....to someone who is passionate about the product & writes passionately about it |

Borisg - my partner is a website designer. He can do you a special deal if you want a unique design for your site too. I can't describe the difference it's made to the potential of my site. I'm even more motivated to work on it every day. you can visit his website at Auckland Website Design | Website & Logo Design by Cre8ve Online and say I referred you. I'm a big fan of his work - goes without saying really Dev - I start each article with a very basic introduction (making sure to use all my SEO keywords), then elaborate but keep a strong focus as to the point of each article. I write as if I'm talking to a friend, but keeping it literate of course Thanks both for the feedback on my site design! I have passed it on to the masterful creator |

| I would love to know what it takes to be a good writer. Where do I start from. I haven't written before but I'm very confident that I can write well. Just needed directions. Can you refer any website, books or anything which can help me become a very good writer so that I can give my audience quality content.

Dev I recommend a few of the free e-books on how to write good content by Site Build It. My writing came on leaps and bounds working as a journalist. It actually helped that I had a horrendous editor who wouldn't let anything go unnoticed. This is where practice makes perfect. Having someone review your work will help you learn quicker. I also improved my online writing by doing articles for Suite101. This helped me hone my SEO skills and write short, concise copy for the internet. You write pretty clearly here so I don't think you have anything to worry about. Just get writing, about anything, and you will learn from experience. Good luck |
