Default If you want to do succeed ask others who have already done so

Reading a previous post by Steve Pavlina, and 4-Hour Workweek, a very good piece of advice is to seek the advice of someone who has done what you want to accomplish. In Steve's case, he stopped seeking the advice of shareware developers making little money and instead went to a publisher making $10,000 a month. But how would you find the people you are looking for? In my case, I would try to find where top animation directors like Brad Bird or Andrew Stanton are speaking and pick their brains. It is not as hard as you might think. I also took Tim Ferris's advice of directly calling someone I want to call I almost got to speak with the creator of Spongebob Squarepants, but he was away. How would you guys do this?

I'd visit the blog of a person successful in the area I want to be successful in; follow his blog; leave comments regularly; get to know him better; ask him questions.

Oh yes, successful persons do have blogs ... whatever your definition of success is .... Presidents, CEOs, Olympic sportsmen, rock stars, renowned scientists .... they all have blogs.
