Default Blogging vs. Brick and Mortar

I have been toying with the idea of blogging full time for income for a couple of years now. I have started a few blogs, but I guess I haven't had the discipline to follow through with the projects, as I have many interests and haven't zeroed in on what I really want to do when I grow up.

The only thing I know for sure is that I don't want to work for anybody. Right now I manage my father's small town radio station, which takes up all of my time, and with the current economy, it's not making much money at all.

Making a living online is something I am very interested in, since I would like to travel, and making a living online would allow me to move around freely without losing income opportunities.

In this day and time, is starting a blog for making a full time income still viable? Or would you rather spend your time building a "brick and mortar" type business or working in sales or any regular 9 to 5?

I know there are a lot of variables to this question, but I would just like to know if anybody is still taking the plunge to go online full time, or are people being more cautious of taking chances through this economic downturn.

Its quite impossible to awnser your question as I can't speak for others but if you can find something you LOOOOOVVVEE to do and can then find a way to make cash from it,then your sorted ! Probably easier said than done but thats maybe why you let the blogs slide. You were doing it for the cash(which there is nothing wrong with) but its far better to be doing it because you need to express whatever online and if peeps like it cool and if not,no prob. I think thats one of the secrets of success in life, 'Do what you love to do and you'll never have to work a day in your life.' In relation to the economic downtown,I would be aware of it but wouldn't let it affect my possibilites. Thinking of that maybe there must be a way to profit from it! Blog about it..or look for extra advertising for your Dad's radio station and use reverse psycology to sell it,that people need to advertise more in downturns etc..and have facts and figures to prove it or target business that could most benefit from adverstising in a downturn, Job seekers,Employment agencies,charities,etc..Sorry for rambling. I've forgotten what the question was but GO FOR IT! Always go for it! Fortune favour's the brave! Best of luck in whatever ventures you get involved with. Gotta dash! Whoooososhh!!!!!!!!!!

blogging vs bricks & mortar are just the way to market for what you want to do.
Find your passion and then do both, bricks and mortar business adding your value and blog about it.
kinda putting the cart before the horse.
