Tony, I'd recommend getting your opt-in box above the Google Ad. In my opinion, first priority should be building your newsletter list and getting that base of loyal subscribers. Think long-term revenue... the person who clicks the Google link is gone and probably never coming back, but the newsletter list you can sell to over and over again. This is especially important when you create and promote your own products. Now, that's not to say you shouldn't use Google Adsense. I actually use it on all of my sites just about. But my first focus is always getting the subscriber. I actually have several different ways to get to my newsletter: - Left or right sidebar - Menu link - OnExit popup As for actual advertisements, I also like having Google Adsense Link Lists in the menu bar - they blend in well contextually.
