I am strongly considering starting up my own website using Site Build It,and i've watched the Video Tour and read all about it and read lots of people's testimonials, but i'm still confused on one thing,i probably missed it cuz i'm sure they explained it. It says you can start a website about anything as long as you are knowledgable about the subject, and you are willing to put in the hard work. What about if you are not selling anything or providing a service though? How can you make money off a site where you are simply posting information? I realize people click on the ads on your page but how often does that really happen? I've been coming to Steve's site for over a year and i've never once clicked on any of the ads on it,nor do i click on any of the ads on any other websites i go on! So where is the money coming from? Can you realistically make money off a site where you are simply posting information? Also, while i'm at it,i'll throw this question out there too. I understand you purchase the program first, and THEN you go through the brainstorming process to find out exactly what your site will be about. But what if you put all your ideas into it and it comes back saying they weren't good enough and tells you that your idea wouldn't be profitable? So then you've paid $300 for this and you can't even build the site you wanted? I know there is a money back guarantee but i'd like to know that i can build the site i want without it giving me "persmission" first. |

Yes. People do click on adsense ads. In fact, as a five year SBIer, I generate over 80% of my income through adsense. While I don't make my income public, you can make use of Steve's example where he made over $100, 000 a year with adsense. You can also make money via affiliate programs. You can be a pure infopreneur and make money online. As for being able to chose a topic, I don't think you should be worried about that. If you have a specific passion, there are many angles in which you can go about it, until you find the most profitable site concept. SBI takes you by the hand and shows you exactly what to do to build a high traffic website that can be easily monetized. Monetization is the easy part but most people like to query that aspect. I urge you to give SBI a try and not to over analyze or be side-tracked. If you're serious, if you have the brains and motivation you cannot fail with Site Build It! |

Hey Rockchick26, I too was unsure about SBI before I took the plunge and signed up. I already had my site concept and about 40pages of content already written before I had even heard of SBI, which means my brainstorming was a bit faster and allowed me to find all the other profitable threads relating to my site concept. My site is purely information, I have no products to sell and as yet I don't even sell SBI (although this may change in the future) My site has been up for 5 months now and I have yet to monetise and therefore not reclaimed any money. That being said however the main reason for building my site was simply to fill a void - my site is unique there is nothing else quite like it - and is also my passion. In the end the USD$300 I paid (luckily before our dollar fell through the floor) is a small price to pay for the education SBI has given me in these last 5 months. I do hope to have my site earning me money through adsense, affiliates, and referrals by Easter. If my site can earn the registration renewal fee by July, I will be ecstatic and after then anything more than a couple of dollars a day and I will claim it a success. Hope that helps Rockchick26 |

OK, on the serious note, I also click ads rarely, but when I find an ad of my interest, I do click. And it is the way I think most people act. BTW, I am also considering shifting to own domain. Can some experienced SBI tell me 1. How easy/difficult it is to shift an exisitng site to SBI? 2. How many sites one can host under one account ($300/- p.a) on SBI? | |
