Default My Website Creates Value!!!!!!!!!

I need it critiqued though. My website (which is listed in my signature) is being built with Site Build It!. I need to know how I am pleasing my human visitors, because everything passes with flying colors when I used analyze it! on each of my pages.

A bit of information on me: I have A.D.D. really bad, so I created a website that goes straight to the point in the categories. I wanted to create a website that was to the point because I know alot of people don't have time (or if they are like me, they don't have the patience neither...but I am working on that!)to read 10 paragraphs just to find out what the temperament of a breed of pet is.

Keep the following things in mind when you critique the site:

I WANT TO KEEP MY SITE CATEGORIES:

1. Short
2. Sweet
3. To The Point

By short I don't mean just one word (unless there is no documentation, which then it would say "not documented".)

I'm not sure if that is the kind of person you should be rooting for. One would hope that whomever uses your site to adopt a pet would have the time to read those 10 paragraphs if the information therein is important to the owner of such a pet.

Personally, I find it a little troubling that your privacy policy is the longest page on your website. Does it really need to be 10 miles long? You're not Microsoft...

Also, did you know that the value of your website diminishes with every exclamation mark used to promote or announce it? (that's a joke)

Seriously, the less it looks like you are shouting for attention, the more people will listen to what you actually have to say.

The privacy policy I had to add because its google adsense's policy. The only reason its 10 miles long is I copy and pasted (wiith permission) from another websites privacy policy and just changed the website to my address as needed.

I like it, & I think the site is very useful. You're still putting in more info., right? A lot of the breeds are still missing its info. So I'm assuming you'll be adding more info. later.

The layout looks very simple -- not cluttered. I'm not scrolling here and there or looking at the entire page to find what I'm looking for. It's very well organized.

I currently have 2 pups. 1 passed away. When I adopt a pup for my mom in the future, she wants a small one, a site like that would be useful to me.

It's a really nice looking site!

I looked up my dog - a retriever/boxer mix - and found under labrador retriever that housebreaking is out of the question, because he prefers to run and play outdoors. What does that mean? He was housebroken really easily. Out of the question, to me, says you'll never achieve it.

I do like how the info is really simply presented. Are you going to add pictures of the different breeds?

Same here, I have a Labrador retriever and she is housebroken extremely well. In fact, I would say Labrador Retrievers are one of the better dogs in that aspect. I worked at an animal hospital/boarding kennel in high school and labs/golden retrievers were the cleanest dogs there.

As for the site, I like it. I would recommend adding a picture for every breed of dog/cat/sugar glider(never seen one before) and ferret to keep things interesting.

Do you plan to monetize the site in any way? e-commerce/ads?

Good job though, keep at it.

The web site looks good and provides the kind of textual information I think your visitors will want. I can see this being useful for people looking to get a pet. Yeah - pretty straightforward and solid.

However, in my opinion, without tons of pictures, I think people will still end up leaving too soon for other sites. For example, if I'm looking through the list of large dogs, since I see no little picture next to each breed, I don't know what they are, so I don't know which ones I want to click on and investigate further. When I click on Collie, I still don't see any pictures of the Collies or the different kinds of Collies.

People love looking at pictures. They'll spend more time on your site if you have good ones. Plus, they will help you rank better in search engines and they will give more functionality to the site. Pictures are probably the ultimate "short, sweet, and to the point" kind of content!

I think it's crucial. (Maybe it's not, though!) Or maybe you already plan on doing that! Haha, so bravo on the good work so far, and good luck with the site and everything else.

PS - What is a sugar glider? I know what it's personality is like, but there's no picture of it, description of size, or explanation as to what kind of animal it is. For all I know, it could be an ugly little rodent or a cute medium-sized marsupial.

I had a labrador mix that couldn't be housebroken if you tried. But thats beside the point. Since it is a new site, I do plan on asking for help from reputable people who have owned these animals.

I have google adsense on my pages. I do plan on adding pics...however, with my schedule its a slow process--which i HOPE to get done by the first of the year.

I am going to add pics very soon. As far as a description--I don't add description paragraphs because I think the actual picture (that I will eventually add once my schedule allows it) will be worth more than 1000 words of a description section.

I was hoping your site would be helpful to me since we are trying to find a pet for my 5-year-old daughter. But we are looking at birds, turtles, guinea pigs, and hermit crabs, so unfortunately no info for us. I would find it helpful if there were some criteria like "easy to care for" "family friendly" "small space compatable" "inexpensive" etc. that was either searchable or displayed in a table with the list of breeds.

Default My Website creates value

I like what you are trying to do.

At this stage keep working on adding content. Some of the ideas already mentioned make sense like photos.

The fact that your website has a specific purpose gives it a greater chance of succeeding.

Don't worry about how many people are looking at it at present, as it is still a work in progresss. Only when you know it is ready should you then look at increasing visitors to your site and generating income.

Good Luck
