Default Do you see a downside to unemployment money?

Im a student. i dont really ever intend to claim unemployment benefit but i was considering the ethics behind it. I think there world provides whaat we need.
It is a good thing for mankind to share. If you only spent the money on food and shelter would you be a drain or not? This earth provides the nutrition's energy and good we need, surely we all have the right to feast upon the earths glory-full bounty and if shelter is made for people to live in it and the world can provide enough for everyone its just not given out right then we should all use this shelter?
what do you think?

Employers pay into a fund for unemployment so that when a person, once gainfully employed, is fired or let go and file unemployment, then for a period of time that formerly employed person receives a payment from the federal government. Those funds were originially pooled by businesses which pay a regular unemployment insurance fee.

Here is a website that explains it: State Unemployment Insurance Benefits

At least that's how it works over here in the US. Not sure about GB.

In Canada both the employee and the employer pay into the employment insurance fund. You can only get it if you've been working, and the duration and amount of your benefits are based on how long you worked and how much you earned.

You cannot get it if you quit a job because you don't like it. You have to prove the reason you quit is something legit. most people that get it were laid off or fired.

With all that being said, it's perfectly fine to receive the benefits if you fill out the paperwork properly. We pay into it and that's what it's there for.

To get the benefits you have to be actively seeking employment and provide a list of contacts. If you lie on the paperwork it's simply fraud and can only be deemed "ok" if you think things such as tax evasion are also ok.

If you use unemployment when you don't need it, you're just on welfare, living off society as the other professional collectors do.

I collected it for a bit several years ago. Couldn't find a job in my field for a few months. I think I got about 4k out of it. The contributions I've made and the contributions made by my employer on my behalf are at least triple what I took out, so I'm good with that.

Not really encompassing all of how it works.

State Unemployment Funds Running Dry : NPR

A few states unemployment funds are already defunct. And there's close to a dozen more that are on the equivalent of margin calls. With the falling state revenues of Q4 and next year. Will be paid for by the Federal government. Which means bigger deficit.
