Hi, thought I would throw this one out. I want to be a millionaire this next year (2007). I would like some how to suggestions for doing it. I work for myself currently so I have potentially 24hours a day to spend on this. I have a limited cash and credit line, perhaps 10k and need around 25k (after tax) to feed and home my family. But one thing for sure is this I want to be a millionaire by December the 31st 2007. Buy the way - my definition of a millionaire is have a million in cash or assets. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and I promise to keep you up to date!

Sounds simple, however you need to get people to give you a million dollars. With the internet, you can reach hundreds of millions of people. How can you get one million people to give you a dollar? Don't you think that if people had 1-million-pound ideas like that they wouldn't just use them themselves? And good ideas are rare. But they exist. And some people find them. And if they do, they surely don't share them on an internet message board. Why invite the competition?

Markus, I go to the pub a lot and everyone there has a £1m idea - do you know what some of them are good too! The difference between me and them - the difference between a millionaire and a man in the pub is simple: - Action. I'm willing to do what it takes, but before I do I'm interested to know what ideas other people have for making a million? So come on guys, what ideas do you have to be a millionaire in 2007?

I used to think it wasn't possible, til my friend tripled his income in half a year and some university kid came up with the Million Dollar Site. Honestly Mr Brightside, I have no idea, but here's a little formula for money a millionaire taught me once, maybe it'd help you too: Income= Value x Time x Scalability

You can get a free ebook copy at The Original and Only Science of Getting Rich Network! or you can go run out and buy one at your local book store I think. I wouldn't worry about competition, if you use the creative part of your brain competition doesn't exist. I would also add that you should see yourself making the money, and all the good you want to experience when you have it. (but first, go read that book, it'll change your life)

nice replies, everyone. i've heard lots of good things about "the science of getting rich", read it once myself but haven't applied it like i should glad to see that you've made the distinction between having good ideas and action; there are plenty of great ideas out there but what's lacking is creative and disciplined execution of those ideas. how many times have you thought of some idea, but then immediately dismissed it for whatever reason (too weird, the kids won't like it, too expensive, i don't have time, etc.)? and then 2 years later you see your idea implemented somewhere else? so i think your approach can be fruitful if you find someone with the ideas and the vision, and you can kind of be the operations/implementation guy. however, i agree with openmind that you make sure that it's really what you want. $1m might seem really important at one level of consciousness, but it might not be at a higher level. only you know what's best for you. but whatever you choose, it's possible to keep growing, so always enjoy the experience and learn as much from it as you can. i think the key is to search for the biggest customer pain that you can find, where you can provide the most value. it's easier to provide a lot of value to a few customers than a small amount of value to lots of customers, but this is changing because of the internet. my thoughts are that if you want $1M in a year, then you might have to do self-employment type of businesses (consulting projects, etc.). but if you have a longer time-frame, you can try entrepreneurship-type businesses where you build an actual business system that will net you $20M+ in 3-5 years. any particular field that you're interested in? i'd be happy to bounce some ideas around. |

There are lots of ideas around that can be converted into million dollar businesses. Bebo was started by a Michael Birch who sat down and developed it himself so did Markus Frind (plentyoffish.com). I believe it is possible as I have set the same goal myself. I'll have to improve my skills, keep my eyes and ears open, listen, keep abreast of trends and most importantly take action and don't be afraid to fail |

It's obviously already used, but just to get you thinking, http://www.milliondollarhomepage.com/ has created a 1000x1000 pixel square. The square has 1,000,000 pixels, and the owner sold each one for one dollar, so he made $1 million.

Hi, Thanks for the advice guys. I have narrowed it down to a couple of areas that I want to focus on: -
This should give me a good balance on passive/active income I would like to earn. Any thoughts on these specific areas would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Mr Brightside.

I've been on the very same quest. I've tried or seen every scam out there, I'll bet. So, I'm sticking to what I know best: writing and INTENDING. I've joined the "Million Dollar Experiment" and I think the spiritual-cerebral path will manifest my desired outcomes. Do what you know best. Do what you have the greatest passion for. I've always loved to help others (I'm a retired elementary school teacher), and I'm sure you do, too. Combine them and expect a miracle. That's where I'm coming from these days. Hope that helps. -brad

Alvin, What does Scalability mean? The article didn't explain it well. Thanks, Colm

| That is so true! Trusting your intuition is one of the most important things you could ever do. Your subconscious mind is your best friend and most trusted advisor, if only we could learn to actually believe it when it tells us something.
