you need lots of targeted traffic to make money with adsense, this should be no big surprise to anyone, and by lots I mean hundereds of thousands. Adsense should be just one part of a monetization strategy.

Haha, that was a good read indeed.

Ironically, it demonstrates the biggest reason why most people don't make money with AdSense: It simply because most people who 'teach' how to make money online aren't making any money themselves and don't know squat about the subject, and so they do what a lot of self help / personal development authors and bloggers also do: teach what works in theory, but not in practice.

As a beginner trying to make money online today you are LOST, because you simply don't know how to pick the good from the bad when it comes to this stuff, and everywhere you turn there is some other beginner posing as an expert and giving AWFUL advice on what you need to do to "make millionz of moneyz with my webzite lol."

Some of these clowns even become fairly "well known" in MMO circles. I could easily make a list of well established MMO bloggers and IM product hawkers who don't have a clue what they are talking about (at least when it comes to AdSense) - because they aren't doing what they say they're doing, and anyone who actually IS doing it can see right through their BS. The sad part is that they're actually hurting people.

All that on the page is straight-up PLR content and you can see it a mile away. Furthermore, I would encourage anyone who wants to make money online to first spend a month learning proper keyword research.

I started a website two months ago, after spending nearly a year getting myself "juiced" into the industry. I know aspects of things that I never even imagined existed to begin with. Furthermore I still continue to learn things today. The amount of "crapware" as I call it is insane. There are ebooks on everything from making money to how to blow dry your ass.

What sucks is that it gives the "industry" a bad name. One that I do not want to associate with. I don't do rebill CPA offers (like the teeth whitening ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥) and I don't want to charge people for my content. I would rather give my readers something absolutely free and charge for the advertising.

It works for television and radio, what makes the internet so different?

The reason there is so much crap-in-a-box being sold is because the barrier to entry to doing business on the internet is so very low. Anyone and their grandma can start a free website and claim to be a guru in any subject.

This brings to mind something I recall an SBI'er saying... "the bad news is that online, there will always be lots of competition. The good news is that most of your competition will suck."

For the most part, the scammers and liars will not succeed online. The people who stick to integrity and decide to "figure it out" in the long run will be the ones who end up on top.... kind of like in any other business.
