I remember reading that Steve was getting a lot more links. How come this site, stevepavlina.com, used to be PR 6 but dropped down to PR 4 and now appears to be PR 3?

I was curious about the same thing; how did Steve's site lose pagerank so severely? Don't suppose it was correlated with the dropping of adsense from this site...

I haven't read a whole lot about Page Rank, but it seems it's not all that important anymore with Google (from what I've read, at least).

No idea, but I pretty much ignore page rank because that's Google's business, not mine.

I just look at my web stats to see the incoming search traffic and what people are searching on. My search traffic is higher than ever this month.

Only a small percentage of my traffic (like 5%) comes from search engines though. Most of it comes from thousands of links from other blogs and websites. It's very decentralized, but it adds up.

Thanks! That is great. Most of my traffic comes from Google searches. A Google search shows my site at #2 for Losing Weight and #4 for Lemonade Diet. I just read on Google that the PR depends on number and quality of links. Of course the exact details are top secret. This sounds like an anomoly with your site. I do not like anomolies.

Google is PR 10. Yahoo, Facebook and MSN are PR 9. National Inst. of Health is PR 9. Craigslist is PR 8. Webmd is PR 8. Mercola says his site is biggest natural health site. It is PR6. New ones are PR 0 since most new sites drop out in less than a year. This site should be PR 7!

Me too, traffic is more important than status symbol.

One can still be on top of Google even if his PR is low.
