So, at 30 years old this is a bit of a frustrating question to ask, but I still can't seem to nail down the one career that would best utilize my gifts. I like to communicate, talk and write and I'm fairly proficient at it. I have a good sense of humor (just being factual, y'all). On the flip side, in my career now as a Medical Office Manager, I can set up detailed spreadsheets and find a lot of satisfaction out of making sense of stuf and organizing data. Maintaining said spreadsheets is another matter. I recently took a personality/brain test that said my strong point was as an Innovator. That's kind of a general thing though. Sadly enough for my school years, I'm at my best talking and using humor to demonstrate things or make them more easy to understand. So what do you think? Thanks for any advice. |

Well, it looks like you already have a blog ... and you have a great skill - running a family with FIVE kids??? Hello .... I bet that takes a lot of "organizing data!" So why don't you target your blog towards moms juggling large families/careers with organizational tips, etc. ... you can eventually morph that into coaching mommies (maybe the ones ready to have their third/fourth/fifth babies and are terrified???). Sounds pretty innovative to me! :-) Blessings, Andrea http://intuitioninbusiness.com |

Thanks everyone for the great replies! Orange-I'll have to give that some serious thought. I have always been intrigued by stories of people who take one thing and match it up to another and make this great career out of it! VDesign-I'm not so sure I could do sales. I wasn't that great at Tupperware, LOL! Advising would be neat though. Andrea-Wow...you gave me a lot of food for thought. I am going to go isolate myself away from the kids for awhile to be able to brainstorm about all this. Thanks so much! Jen |

Well...it sounds like you have a lot of great/marketable qualities... but what are you interested in?? I think you could apply those skills to almost any industry... you just have to decide how you want to combine those talents with one of your hobbies or personal interests. |

Amandaa, You are completely right. I really like neuroscience and psychology. Those two subjects invigorate me. I wouldn't want to use any of my hobbies that I use for down time as a career, as they are mostly crafty things like doodling, painting, collages, sewing, etc. I do those things for myself. Thanks for your advice! Jennifer |
