I exhaust myself thinking of ways to generate money but I am seemingly never satisfied. I'm sure part of it is my self-confidence shooting down my abilities (I have a published book and I've kept up several websites) but another part of it is the lack of build-up. It is rather difficult to find a job that doesn't involve much work for a disabled person like myself. Why do I need an odd job? I can't pay for a site with hopes of large traffic if I receive a little over 400 dollars a month from the government and I usually save it up for traveling. Writing is my main talent but I also give good advice, work well with visual arts (I can't paint or draw but I know what I'm looking at), and have a desire to be an activist regarding civil rights. Any thoughts or advice?

Instead of thinking of ways to generate money, think of ways you can provide value to others. Go from there. Also, you have a voice and you have the internet. What about freelance writing on topics you're interested in like civil rights, etc? |

I appreciate your feedback ma'am. Heh, you read me, help in my relationships, and now point out the most difficult thing to realize which are the things right in front of you. So, I doubly appreciate you. I was thinking of starting a pacifist organization but I don't know where to begin. I had better research.

Start a blog and just keep writing about whatever topic you want, and focus on providing a lot of value within each post. Instead of wracking your head looking for the shortest route to a serious income, play from your strengths & joys. THEN turn it into money. Steve pavlina has several awesome posts about how to make money from a blog, for example. I mean, you're obviously able to sustain a decent living (you DO have food, an internet connection, and a roof over your head, right?), so forget about all of the methods of moneymaking that throw a bunch of huge numbers around and just focus on what you enjoy. Instead of wondering when you'll get paid, just focus on enjoying writing. Asking "Ok when do I get paid?" Is the wrong kind of question to ask. You should just keep writing in your blog and tell people about it. Then when you feel like your blog is worthwhile, put some ads on it. If you write quality posts in it daily (it doesn't have to be shakespeare, it just has to be useful and/or enjoyable), within a few months you can expect to have a real income. Think and grow rich - rome wasn't built in a day and it all started with one brick and an idea. Then two bricks, then four..... |
