Stop feeling sorry for yourself and do something about it. There are plenty of jobs, I don't care where you are. You just need to be resourceful to find them or to even create them. |
-Unemployment destroys selfesteem. You need selfesteem to find a job. Do not let your selfesteem to be destroyed. -Use morning to find a job. -Use afternoon to feel fine, for you need to feel fine as a tool to get a job. -Send at least 100 resumes. Less than 100 is not enough. -Look into yellow pages, apply where no vacancies are now. The best jobs never make it to the papers. -If you do that in a continued and focused effort, in less than 6 months you may get a job. It is not the end of the world. I have had to start over many times in my life. I can tell you that it is not the end of the world, even if you feel like that now. |
I heard someone say that when you are unemployed, "Finding a job is your job". What they meant was to treat it as a job. Get up early each day just like you were going to work. But instead, you will be working at finding a job. Also, if what you say is true, there is nothing there at all, then you have to move. I know you have no money, but it can be done. What is the alternative? |
As long as you are working for someone else not only are you making money for him but you also will be "looking" for a job........so..........create your own job and be your own boss. Old books, once that you are organized, is a good paying deal........I have bought books for a quarter that are worth $150.00. Also clothing......... I buy like new used clothing for a dime or a quarter that I could resell for up to $10.00..........I am talking about Haggard and Lee's and so on. Find out what people needs in your area and give them what they want, you could do their run around for them........like......groceries, dry cleaning and so on........keep gas prices in mind when doing this. If a dumb Cuban refugee like me did it then so can you.... good luck. |

But for more of a long term solution, why not try to start your own biz? Make a list of what you're good at and what you'd enjoy doing. Why can't you go to college? You can take out a loan or ask your parents, if they're willing to give you money to pay off credit card debt, wouldn't they give you money to better yourself educationally? Take some action, any action, toward bettering yourself, you'll feel better and cry a lot less. Good luck!!! |
