 Starting a music business, how could i make this work? Hey, I love music and as i have a Entrepreneurial set mind i would love to do somthing to help me and my friend that love music to earn some money from doing what they love other than getting gigs or selling records. I was thinking setting up a small business making music jingles and sound logos for businesses and websites ect... how should i go about starting up a business like this? thanks.      |

| Start with the absolute minimum spending - it might take time to get things working the way you want, so save your money until you know you got it right. To do this you'll need some samples, a website to get people interested, and some traffic to the website (from people who would be interested in this kind of thing). To get exposure consider writing to people who know of who might be interested, doing a few jobs for free (consider local businesses, or even better local non-profits/schools - something that a small newspaper might write about) or doing something unusual (but hopefully legal) to get attention. Writing a full song might be outside what you're thinking of but if you do that for a school it's sure to be noticed. |
