Help me achieve my goal of making $100 on my website by september

I have just started out my website. Its bacily a website for my county. I live in a very touristy area. my site is Everything Cornwall, Hotels, Jobs, Property, dating Its knowwhere near done yet but im adding one or two pages a day and im allways having good ideas for new pages so at this rate it should be a good size in like a month. Also Its very new and isnt in google yet, any tips on getting it indexed on google faster? yeah my goal is to make $50 from adsense on this site by september.It has been with adsense for 3 days and made about $1 but its not indexed and only had a home page when i first started with adsense, it has 4 now, probly 6 tomorrow.. ect. Could anyone help?

Hi Gary.

If you run adsense on a website with little content except a few headings, then the Adsense adverts you get are going to reflect those headings. In your case, a set of headlines leading to sites relevant to Cornish dating, property etc.

The ads will have been placed by people and companies who already have websites that have the information about Cornwall that they are looking for.

Anyone who visits your site looking for information is going to click on those ads and leave your site, pausing only to curse you for putting an uncecessary click between them and the sites they were really looking for. They are unlikely ever to return. You have made a few pence.

In the meantime any potential advertiser visiting your site will note three things -

1. No content.
2. You are proposing that they take out a very big advert, but you don't have any takers at all.
3. There is a lot of competition on your site from adsense.

I don't think you have given anyone any value so unless you can come up with some way of driving a huge amount of traffic to your site I think your aim of trousering fifty quid by the end of September is very optimistic indeed. If you get the click through rate and payout that I get on my website you will need to pull in around 10,000 visits to generate you target. That is around 150 a day. One every 10 minutes.

I happened to visit Cornwall for the first time last month. It is a lovely county. It would be great if someone were to create a website that showcased the county. Why not focus on doing that first and then look at ways you can make money out of it.

And yeah i know what you meen at the moment theres not much original content the things i have done so far arent really very good content, with no value. I guess thats why i picked those things to start with, i was hoping to have better original content on pages such as art, music, events, photos, and then use the content that could be found anywhere like dating and property just to be a good way to affilaite. Like theres a website that just does cornwalldating when its just an affiliate to match.com and that is doing well and advertiseing on the radio. Thanks alot It was very helpfull I am now going to focus on getting just orignal content before i do thingsthat would just be extras. Could you make any suggestions on extra things i could ad to it that are orignal for example im thinking about writeing articles on local artists and local musicans. I am getting ideas all the time, but it would be very helpfull.

Well the landscape is pretty stunning in Cornwall. Maybe hit Flikr - find all the best photos and contact the people who have put them up and ask them if you can use their photos on your website. You should have a gallery together in a few weeks which will be a start.

Thanks yeah, Im going to buy a day ticket and go all around Cornwall taking photos, i made a page of a list of towns and citys in Cornwall and im going to make a page for each one of them with an orignal photo taken by me in it and a little biog about the place. Also I got rid of the crappy ad space and im thinking of selling Cornissh tshirts and things on a page and useing the big space to advertise that page well.

Also, Iv changed what i want out of this site, basicly i just want $30-$50 a month from it not just from adsense but everything im guna do on it to make money, Its just guna be a little extra cuz im going to make sites with better ideas i have had alot of advice from people sense i made this one and im going to make sites that will get more hits and are easyer to create good content for.

Build something similar for Cornwall, and I reckon it would be very popular. When you go taking photos, go into the shops in the towns. Ask the shop keepers where the best cakes, lunches, dinners are in town. Build up a list, and try to get to at least one of them to write a review. You'll have a "hit list" of the "best" places to go - list them on your site, and resolve to review one of them a month.

You've got the summer holidays. Get out on your bike to your surrounding towns and review a place a day with your mates!

thanks yeah, I was guna get a day cornwall bus pass and see how many places i could go to in a day . Im just waiting for a sunny day first
YEah iv seen that site build it site by that girl before When Im looseing ideas im ust going to take some of her site and use them for everythingCornwall but it will be a while before that , Iv got so many pages that i havnt finished .. hehe.
