Default What is business identification?

What does it mean to show business identification? Is it like a tax EIN number or something? They request that for membership cards at Sam's Club, Costco, and BJ's for business memberships. Does that mean that they won't charge me tax if I am a business member?

A business check will work for Sams Club as will a business card in most clubs. I have given my drivers licenses and a statement I am a self employed person and received the desired benefit.

They will not charge tax if the items are for resale. They will charge you sales tax if you use the items in your own business such as paper to print company documents. Be very honest and pay the tax unless the items are truly for resale and you will be able to document collecting the sales tax when you sell the items. The tax man will not be amused if you fail to remit sales tax in the correct amount an in a timely manner.

Thanks,

That's good to know. I don't like paying taxes so I thought I could go this route, but it doesn't seem a good idea.
