Default Should you write your own articles, or hire a web content provider?

hmmmm, the burning question...

I guess what it comes down to is... are you willing to sit in front of your computer all day and type up article after article?

Advantages for Writing your own:
1. You get your own uniqueness
2. You don't have to spend any money
3. Anybody have anymore?

Advantages for Hiring a web content provider:
1. You don't have to write articles all day.
2. You can get the amount of articles you need for a great website in a matter of weeks - instead of years.
3. Professional writers are more than likely better than you at wriitng.
4. Anybody have anymore?

I myself help run a website that provides content writing services...kind of curious on what other people have to say on this one.

Right now I'm writing articles for myself. I find the more I do it, the faster I can write them. On the other hand, if you have to provide content for other businesses, it might not be practical to write them all yourself. There are also programs that "spin" different versions of the same article, but at this point I'm not interested in those, as I'm trying to create quality content. I've also found most PLR type articles are junk and need a lot of work to be usable.

Tough question. I guess it depends if you look at the creation of content over time as a skill you want to develop. If you always farm it out then you're not enhancing your own writing skills.
I think it also depends on whether you want the content to be pure factual or your opinion - you really shouldn't get other people to express your opinion in case its at odds to your values!

I think it depends on your goal. If your goal is to create a website with valuable information, then I would suggest writing the articles yourself. If your goal is to create a website solely for the purpose of making money via adsense, affiliate, etc revenues then farming out the articles might be the way to go. Personally, I'd prefer to visit a website full of articles written by someone passionate about the topic.

To reformulate the question: to be an author or to be a publisher?
