Hello my friends, I don't know if I have chosen the right place to post this thread or not but please just move or delete it if it is not in the right place. Additionally, I am not trying to promote my weblog here and I am posting this thread because I have an important question and I think Steve, Erin or the forums' members can answer it. I have a weblog (you can see the link in my signature) but it is a long time that I have not updated it seriously. It was about internet marketing but as there are so many weblogs in the same topic I changed my weblog topic to "forex". I started posting forex related articles and buy/sell signals in Jan and Feb of the current year and people really enjoyed it and the traffic went up like crazy. I am a forex trader and I make money through it BUT the problem is that forex trading is not what I love to do. Blogging is what I really enjoy and love to do specially when I see people like my posts and my voice is heard by them. But I have to make money too. So I stopped updating my blog and kept on my forex business because I really could not handle both jobs at the same as it made me so exhausted and my eyes could not tolerate both it. Now my question: 1. I love blogging. 2. I am really good in blogging about forex. 3. Forex makes money for me. 4. It takes time for my blog to start making enough money for me. 5. I love blogging to become my main (if not the only) source of income or job. 6. I can not do both blogging and forex at the same time. 7. So if I want to keep on doing what I love (blogging), I will have to stop forex trading. Do you think that if I focus on my blog, it will make reasonable and good money after let's say one year??? Fore more information, forex is a hot topic and my articles could make me about $1500 at the first month. There are a lot of forex related weblogs too but my forex market analysis (and so the articles I write) is really unique. Thanks for your time and sorry for this lengthy post. Hello Vahid! I've had a look at your site and you've certainly got interesting information there! I was impressed! I know a little about forex but not too much (I've tried it a little but thought it isn't for me, at least not at this moment anyway). 1.To answer your question: It depends on how much time you spend on your forex business. I think that it would be best, if possible, to keep doing forex and keep writing also, because I think that you could write about your forex experiences, the things that happen every day - maybe even start a sort of a special category in which you could talk about what happen that day, it could be something like a live journal and I think people would enjoy that, especially as you have about 1 000 or so visitors and more than 500 subscribers from what I saw. 2.Looking through your site I can make some suggestions that I hope will help you. First you might want to lower the number of google ads on each page as they give a bad look to the page ( In my opinion less ads = more money for you Another thing is that it takes a little time for your pages to load so my suggestion will be to break a page down into 2 or maybe 3 pages and you could add a link at the end of each page that would point to page two and so on. 3.You have a very good page rank for your home page so I think that you have a great site here and a real opportunity to make blogging your main focus, but maybe you should at first build your list of people (subscribers) and start earning some real, hard cash before doing so. I would suggest that you set a goal - the amount of money that would allow you to live a good life for 30 days - ask yourself how much money do you need now to live for 30 days? - and then try to achieve that goal. When you've achieved that goal and maybe even more for 6 months in a row from blogging alone, I think that you could make a living from this. Maybe 6 months is a little too much, but this is an important decision you have to take. It's all up to you and I'm very sure you can make blogging your main focus, but perhaps you have to be a little patient. I hope this helps you and keep me posted on how things are going for you!

Hi I really appreciate the time you spend to check my site and reply to my post. I am really thankful. 1. You are absolutely right. If I want to blog about forex, I have to do the forex business too. It makes sense. 2. Yes I know that I have the maximum number of Adsense units on the articles pages and will drop two of them but currently I am making some tests about the best formation of the units, their size and their relation with the number of visitors. I have read some articles about it but I think any topic and website is different and you have to optimize your ads for each site. The speed problem of the site is because of the poor service that Godaddy has. I have to find a faster and better hosting service. Their servers are so slow and I have complained a lot to them but they don't care. They are the most famous domain registration company after all 3. Your suggestion about setting the goal is really impressive. You are also right that I have to work on it at least for 6 months or even more to have a reasonable income. You encouraged me a lot. I hope I can start working on the blog as soon as possible. I also checked your site and will drop by regularly from now on. Please add a FeedBurner mailing subscription to your blog so that I can subscribe to your RSS through my email. "What should I do to stop feeling tired?" is an article that solves a lot of problems for me. Now I know that feeling tired doesn't mean that I have no energy. I still have a lot but should try to use them. It makes sense. We are much stronger than what we think. You are good in writing. Congratulations! Again thanks for your time and your advice.

I recommend that you update the design a bit, if i hadn't seen the 500+ subscribers feed burner icon (not everybody knows what that is) - I would have left straight away as the site looks spammy. It doesn't really look like a blog either so have you thought about using a wordpress based homepage? Maybe you can sell an ebook of all your knowledge to make a little extra income

Thanks for your reply. It is a wordpress based weblog but I have customize it a lot and it looks so simple. One of the reasons is that I have to have big 700x600 images in my posts and so I had to remove the two right columns. Thanks again for your time and suggestions.

Thank you Vahid for your kind words! Here is the address for my feed: RazvanDobre.com I'm having some problems putting a subscription box on the blog, just like the one you have. Have some suggestions on how to do that?

You have to activate your FeedBurner email subscription first: 1. Go your FeedBurner account. Then click on your weblog feed list at FeedBurner :: Sign In 2. Click on "Publicize" tab at the top. 3. Click on "Email Subscriptions" at the left. 4. Go the bottom of the page and click on "Activate". 5. Grab the "Subscription Form Code" at the same page and insert it to your weblog template in a suitable place that can be see on all the home page, archive and article pages. You can post it above the "Recent Posts". Please let me know if you still have and problem regarding the subscription form.

Surely you can optimise your images a little so that they don't need to be as large, or people can click them so that they go bigger A way to do this without them leaving the page could be using the lightbox plugin P.S. I still think an ebook might be a great idea

Thanks for the tips. Yes I will have to think about selling my ebook. I was always curious to know the name of that plugin and you introduced it to me today. It is a great plugin. I must use it on my site. Thanks again.
