I'm thinking about writing an ebook and publishing it through Clickbank. I'm getting more and more serious about jumping into internet marketing, and I don't want to sell anyone else's product. My questions are: What are some ways to market it? (AdSense, Website, etc) If you have done it, how do you go about attracting alot of affiliates? If a good product is needed to attract affiliates, what constitutes one? (like return rates or something?) If anyone has done it, or has some input, I thank you in advance!

Hi, there is alot to think about here... selling others' products give you more opportunity to seel, however selling your own tends to give more profit. Why don't you want to sell others' products? does this make a good business or just a bit of self pride/ego in some fashion? No offence meant, what makes the best bsuiness is the way to go. whatever that is for you.......... Dave |

You should try promoting/selling other peoples products before getting into creating your own. You gain more experience beforehand that way. |

Thanks for the input! Haha yes, it's a bit of an ego thing. I have known what it's like to be spoiled. And ever since I was 14, I have learned to work hard for what I want. I refuse to take any handouts (besides the priceless advice on these forums With that said, I know my own product will take a longer initial investment, but I'd rather have it that way.

hi, I have been through the same process, writing my own books, not wanting to sell the work of others, but if it does not make commerciial sense then mabye you should review your ideas. Of course it depends on waht you want from your business. Could you not find products that compliment yours and ofer your customers more varitey but in the way you want? I have looked through clickbank for products in my own niche and there are loads but most are also rubiish, so i am picking and choosing one's that i feel my customers will like and are of the quality i would look for, dave |

One best way to promote your product is thru affiliate programs and joint ventures. Unlike the others, I don't think it's wrong to start with your own product before promoting someone else's. If you are best in creating product, so be it. You don't need to spread your energy in other things like affiliate marketing. (But yes, affiliate marketing can help you get better idea how to promote and what to put in your product, as the other said) |

Hi, I am not saying it is wrong to focus on your own product first, I was just getting some thinking about whether it makes a good business or not? dave |

My method - a domain powered by wordpress blog and e-junkie. My website is being totally re-worked as we speak (received great feedback from people on this forum). People buy products from people they know and trust. A blog seems a great way to build my story. E-junkie comes highly recommended if you're selling digital products. Quote:
I stumbled across Slade Roberson's blog, and he sells his own e-books (on how to use blogs to sell your own e-books). His blog also is a great resource for marketing, etc. I also recommend you read Seth Godin's blog to learn more about exceptional (and out-of-the-box) marketing. His books are amazing also. I love to talk about my aspirations of selling me e-books and such! Do you mind telling us what you plan on writing/selling? |
