Default Anyone ever try a credit repair expert?

I’m looking to pump up my credit score from 640-to 700 to get a better interest rate on my mortgage. I’ve heard opening new credit card accounts can help (some say it could hurt) the score but i doubt that would be enough. I surfed the internet and read about credit repair experts that could help. Has anyone tried these guys? Do they really help and if they do how much can they help.
Thanks for the advice.

What the company would tell you is to pay as many upcoming bills as you can 5 days before their due date. Opening new credit cards really isnt a great idea. The only benefit to this is making small purchases on it & paying them off immediately may slightly raise it. Most of the information the company would give you about repair credit is transfering credit card amounts to lower rate credit cards, paying off highest rate credit cards & keeping track of your account balance closely. Most of the information they would give can be found online free.

Until a short time ago you could have piggybacked somebody with good credit to improve your chances. People were actually brokering good credit scores.
