I am writing this post just to say "thank you" to Steve Pavlina for providing this forum, and especially for not being a Nazi about people mentioning their own products and services on the forum. I know it seems almost obvious that you would do that, since you are encouraging your members to earn money independently. But still, I just want to say how refreshing that attitude is. I have been on many forums where any mention of your own business is either deleted by the moderators or piled on by the other members. ("Oh my God! You're just trying to make money!") And I find it silly, especially when there's a topic on a forum that I've written about in one of my books or on my website and I happen to mention my book or website in my post. Why shouldn't I, and anyone else, be able to do that? But the anti-business attitude seems to be the norm rather than the exception on a lot of forums. Anyway, I'm glad it's not like that here. I enjoy looking at the websites of other forum members and don't mind at all when people promote themselves. If you can't promote your work to your friends than what can you do? I also want to say that I have found Steve's website so very useful over the last couple of years. I still haven't gotten the money I need flowing yet but I come to this website almost every day for inspiration. I hope to be able to make a donation soon. I know I'm overdue. |
