Default Tips for getting useful/good links?

Hi everyone.

I'm still pretty new to the online marketing scene, but I've been marketing a software called NoteScribe for the past few months. I have steadily learned a lot of important things as far as blog seeding and developing good links, but in some ways, I'm not even sure about the best way to do these things.

As mentioned in my thread title, I'm seeking out getting good links on the web to boost our SEO, but I'm not sure exactly where to start with that. Do they primarily come from blogs? Or would we be better off on other types of sites. If so, what kind?

Any help is appreciated, thank you everyone!

Jake

Default Backlinks are the best

Hi backlinks are the best ones, that is other websites that link to yours.

You can use your forum sig here to create a couple.

Also try directories but be aware that loads of irelevant links will not help you. The best links are those that are targeted toward the content of your site: a link from a plumbing website will not help you if your site is about horses! for example.

Talking Forum sig

Hi,

i noticed your forum sig has a link in it but you would be far better of having the link that included a key word or phrase. Does anyone type in notescribe?
or would they type in "how to get better grades" if they are more likely to type in the latter, use that in your sig and link it to your web site.

Rememeber, every time, every time, you create a link from somewhere to your site, it is an opportunity to raise your online profile, so use key words and key phrases where you can!!!

Blog carnivals are a great way to get backlinks to your articles. You might want to try those if you have suitable content.

The best types of links are the ones that you don't have to do any work for to obtain. And don't forget about ones that drive a reasonable amount of traffic. (They're usually one in the same.)

Thank you for the tips everyone, they're very much appreciated!

Dave, I will be updating my signature to add some keywords related to NoteScribe. Thanks for the tips!

Gayathri, what are Blog carnivals? I'm not familiar with those, but I'd be willing to check them out.

Thanks again everyone!

You're very right, Dave. I just did a little research this morning, and I've noted that our SEO has jumped up quite a bit in the last month or so due to lots of blog seeding and other efforts to get links out on the net.

Thanks again for the tips everyone!
