Greetings everyone. My name is Joseph and i am all too familiar with the Law of Attraction and how it works. i actually coach and help people understand and apply it, even though I am no professional coach or anything, I do it because I enjoy helping others. Even though I know all the methods on how to make the Law of Attraction work, I have been some issues trying to apply it to something that is close to me, and that is my business. Back in November I opened up an online ecommerce site for witchcraft, wiccan, and occult supplies. I sell all kinds of things, from jewelry, to candles, incense, tarot card decks, cauldrons, the works. I have a little bit of everything on my site. When i first started my business i of course used the law of attraction to make it succeed. In the beginning of January I really began to see the orders flow in, and from Jan-Beginning of March I was riding on cloud nine with just how much business I was getting. I would sometimes make 2,000 a week. However I began to slip and noticed i was spending a lot of money on the advertising. There is an advertising program Google has called Adwords that I use which brings in 90% of my traffic and pretty much most of my business. I began to get concerned because of the amount of money i was being charged by Google every couple days, it was 500+ dollars every four or five days. Luckily at the time i was making enough to keep afloat, however I wanted to save some money so I began to adjust the pricing on the advertising so I can make it cheaper. After I did that everything fell apart. The orders stopped coming in, and my traffic went down. I use Yahoo, MSN, other PPC sites too. I advertise on a radio commercial, I advertise through link exchanges, myspace, you name it I have tried it, and it seems with no Google, no traffic or orders. I put more money back into Google this past week and made a good amount however its unpredictable and having to rely on 400-500 bucks every couple days for getting orders is eating up my money. I just don't understand what I'm doing wrong now with my business. I intend, I visualize, I meditate, I feel good about it, detach and let it go, and still I have all these issues when it comes down to profiting and getting ahead here. Other aspects of my life have improved greatly. However this is something I am struggling with. Can anyone offer any advice or help? I would appreciate it. Thank you! I went to your site to see what I could see. lol. I tried to place an order and found myself on a page that warned me your security certificate wasn't working. If I had wanted to make a purchase you would have lost me right there. Some folks don't care, a lot more do. Law of Attraction, interesting concept. We can discuss it all day and still go home with the same views, so let's not. You using Law of Attraction to make money. You meditated and did whatever else you do. Then you set up a website, it's a nice little store, btw, 'cause the money had to come from somewhere, right? Then you set up a ppc campaign, 'cause you needed customers. -- Get the picture. It doesn't matter what motivation you used, after you thought about what you wanted you acted, you did something. You didn't just wait for the cosmos to send you money raining down from the sky. You built a website and got visitors to it. Good job. Running with that thought--you need more visitors and ppc is nice but expensive so try something else. How about some nice SEO? Nothing beats search engine traffic for sales. Also do something to get visitors coming back, repeat buys are nice to have. Tayrak |

Thanks Tayrak, but how did you get the impression that the SSL isn't working? I had my web developer put it in and everything seemed to be working just fine. What was the warning that you received that it was not working?

Hi, I have tried to go to your site and I caanot get on it at all. It says there is a database issue. Any, for me, with a few websites, it is combining good business sense whether you believe in loa or not. I personally do use LOA, my beliefs etc but I also make sure that my business is on firm footing with a plan involved for me to work to. If I were you I would also explore my beliefs around success cheers dave |

It takes time to built a stable business. If you keep doing something of value word will spread and Google may start to rank your site higher. In the mean time, if you have a set of ads that convert well and make you a profit, why complain? If I could spend $1 to make $1.50 I would put in all the money I could spare... and then re-invest the profits.

I did a short analysis of your site and found some glaring things that will help your rankings. You're default urls in the Zen Cart store are not search engine friendly. Your url looks like this: /index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2629 The #1 PR for wicca supplies looks like this: /16-ounce-cast-iron-cauldron-without-lid-p/wwritcld003.htm #2 looks like: /RitualCauldron.asp All links go to a page to buy a cast iron cauldron but google will put more relevance to the ones with a friendly url. Looking around at the top organic search results for your keywords show that their shopping carts are better optimized than your installation of Zen Cart. I've done a some SEO work for eCommerce sites and was reminded of this article on Zen Cart and SEO . Here's an good nugget that describes exactly what I thought when I saw your urls. Quote:
Second thing I noticed is that you dont have a sitemap on your site. The top organic results have some kind of index or sitemap on their sites. I generally use the Google Sitemap tool, Google has some great Web Developer Tools for free. Here's the link to a Zen Cart Google Sitemap integration Also, Magic SEO URL has a free plugin to build sitemaps too. I did a keywordspy on your site and saw your google ads and variations. I'd recommend changing them to have relevant links associated with your ads instead of just linking to your homepage. If someone clicks on your Colored Crystal Balls ad, take them to your page that sells colored crystal balls, dont make them click any more than they have to find what they are interested in. I hope these suggestions help you along your way to a successful online store. There's more you can do but these improvements will make big leaps in your traffic and conversion. Please keep us updated on how you progress with your site! | |
