I'm thinking of selling things on ebay. I have a whole stack of games I want to sell, some of them haven't been open. Also I have these new shoes that are too big for me. But I don't anything about shipping cost, especially in north america.

It can be a pain to work out to start with, but you must give a clear indication what people need to add on for shipping. When selling something heavy I tend to only sell it to those in the UK. But I have sold books internationally without any problem. Make clear that there will be additional shipping for anyone outside your country with the item description, as well as the specific postage bit.

My son is selling a set of Dragonball-Z books, and we've gotten inquiries from Ireland, Australia and Canada! I found out USPS has a flat-rate Priority Mail box (large and small), so for us to ship to Canada, it's $29.95, any other country, $49.95. I found a lot of info on the USPS site about international shipping. UPS, too, has special rates to & from Canada. I found out that sometimes the recipient will have to pay customs - as long as they know that beforehand, they can be prepared for that. Since the buyer pays shipping, as long as they know what they're getting into, I'll ship anywhere!

Hey PRojectX, Sell those games, shipping is no big deal. PUt it in a box, tape it, and use your post office website to calculate how much it cost. But alternatively you can try craigslist since you're dealing locally without the shipping hassle. Hope that helps, Ken |

Yeah. I was worried the shipping and handling would cost too much, so much it would nullify the profits I would make from selling them. I have a whole stack of first hand games and books I want to get rid off. And I could really use the extra cash.

If i'm not sure of postage when i'm selling something, i check out the category i'm selling in and look for listed postage price on similar items. I use the same method to decide on a starting price - I usually put it lower than the average to encourage more views.
