Default Safety Dance

Sometimes in a very crazy stock market, you have to do the safety dance. You need to find safe stocks, in the right sectors. Here are some sectors that usually don’t get affected by a recession , and maybe even prosper in a slow market. Let’s just call them recession-proof stocks, here is the list.

1: Silver : In the modern age of technology, silver goes in everything. For example: cell phones, computers, blackberry, etc. And, of course, jewelry would be included in this sector.

2 : Oil : Most people complain about how oil companies are making money with high gas prices. Which, I agree is this case. But, here is how to take advantage of that. Buy oil stocks or oil industry-related stocks. If they are making money, so will you!

3: Alternative energy : I like solar energy. It is slowly, year after year, making money. It is beginning to catch on. As electric costs get higher, more people and companies are going solar. Be sure to keep a eye on the Hydrogen and Ethanol markets that are slowly emerging. I believe that this sector has a lot of versatility.

4: Gold : As long as the dollar is weak, gold will keep going up in price.

With the housing market, and the dollar being so bad. Right now might be the best time to buy stocks, there should be a lot of bargains out there. Do your homework, and there is a lot of money to be made.
