Default Guides for eBook writing.

I'm considering writing and self publishing an advice book. Most likely I'll write an eBook and promote it on the net.

What are some good websites or books that give a guide on writing a book or ebook?

Thanks!

Default ebook about ... ebooks!

I used "how to write and publish an ebook in 7 days" which is very typical sensationalistic, cheesy, etc. BUT it really motivated me and I did indeed write, publish and start selling in 7 days. Here's a link to the book or ebook. If this link doesn't have the hard copy, try amazon, that's where I got mine.

Which was written by Joe Vitale before he became a, ahem, "metaphysician" or whatever it is he calls himself these days. I've heard it's good and had it recommended to me, even though nobody I know actually finished writing the book they started writing (which is not Joe's fault, of course).

I just ordered this book on amazon. Amazon.com: Writing Nonfiction, 4th Edition: Turning Thoughts into Books (Writing Nonfiction): Dan Poynter: Books

It's for writing and publishing real books, but I'm sure I could apply it to the digital version as well.

Default Open Office for PDF creation

A little off topic, but useful for aspiring ebook writers: you can use Open Office Writer for creating your ebook. It has a save as pdf function, which word doesn't have.

For those who don't know, Open Office is an office suite, just like Microsoft Office. It's free, too. (more info)
