I went to get a loan with my wife,who has bad credit, and the loan officer ignored me totally, preferring to talk to my wife instead who had pages of bad credit reports.

Statistically, people with no credit default fairly often because they have never had credit before, and never learned how to manage it.

I was in the same boat when trying to buy my first house.
