Try doing some surveys on the internet, or freelance writing.

I make money from selling ads on my websites. Blogs are just one of my revenue sources.

I get yearly royalties from creative work I've done. Not much, but it's nice

I earn my living from a freelance writing business (started 2003) and an info products business (started 2005). Side income also comes from investments and property.

I've been building a slowly increasing passive income for the past two years, and I'm still in the early stages.

I set up a goal: a month's salary plus a variety of income sources. I'm about 1/3 of the way there. You can read more about what I'm doing, but I'm definitely on the look out for additional ideas to supplement my initial ten!

Hope you find it of value.

well I'm not a blogger! (thank god, because I would have too much competition here. )

One of my biggest side projects is artwork. I love fine art (all forms), but drawing and painting are my specialties. especially people & faces. I've been doing it since I was in second grade...and in high school, people started noticing, and my 30-year-old cousin asked me to draw a picture of her 1-year-old little girl. So I worked on it for a few weeks, gave it to her for Christmas, and she loved it. Her and her husband framed it and started raving about it to all of her rich friends... so she kind of built up my clientele for me... and somehow, I got sucked into selling drawings & paintings. It works though, because people are obsessed with their kids... (especially new parents)... and a lot of them are willing to pay $1-2,000 for a picture that I work on for about 4 or 5 days.
(I've actually seen a lot of older people pay upwards of $10,000 for artwork though... If I ever have the confidence to put that kind of price tag on my "work," then this could be an even better source of income...! )

I also sell a few health products, like Aloe Juice, Juice Plus, and OPC-3. but I don't really do that actively. I only mention it about once a month-- and only when someone comes crying to me about their health problems.
(But this isn't a significant source of supplemental income at all. I could probably make more doing this, but I don't want to seem like a pushy salesgirl... so I only make about 1 sale every couple months. )

Other than that..... ummm..... does the stock market count?

I've had a lot of big income ideas, but haven't acted on them yet. I'll let you know if I do.

funny you mention your cousin. mine started her own photography business about a year ago and she gets tons of requests for portraits of people's kids. you might want to look into pets as well. personally, i can't think of a better form of income than selling your own art (music, writings, etc). expression is needed in this day and age, which is probably why blogs are so popular.

Did you look into network marketing?

I've managed to trickle in another stream of income through network marketing

I play drums at weddings and parties. Pretty good paycheck doing that.

Pretty fun, taxing on the joints, and Fridays and Saturdays are unfortunately booked. I don't plan on doing it forever because I would like a life. Unless, of course, the Fridays and Saturdays are booked playing in front of 10,000 people.

Default RE supplemental income

Are you looking for an employer or a business? Are you looking for part-time? Full time?

I have a friend who's wife has been working at home employed by google. Her job has been to go through a list of keywords provided for her by google and rank the corresponding sites according to their keyword relevance. Don't think it pays alot but it's a start.

As far as a home business goes my inlaws got some training in real estate short sales. They are having enormous success in the current housing climate. They have been working pretty hard so it's unlikely that this would be a part-time undertaking.

This is way oversimplified but you'll get the gist.
My inlaws locate someone trying to sell their home and offer to buy it if the loss mitigation branch of the bank will negotiate the mortgage amount. If you can prove the homeowners financial distress the bank will typically drop the mortgage by at least 30% in an attempt to avoid foreclosure or bankrupcy. Itss fairly easy for them to find a buyer for a house that is 25% lower than its appraised value and they keep the remaining 5%.

There is much more to it than that but with my limited IQ that's about what I understand. This is not a "get rich quick" scheme. It reqires patience and hard work. I wouldn't pay a lot for training as there seems to be info out there. It might pay to have some real estate friend's take on it also.

My wife and I bought a home based business wth the "right" to distribute "franchise products" for $300 seven years ago so she could stay at home with the kids. Beware of "get rich quick schemes"! Our business is Work! But my wife is a hard enough worker that I may not be able to afford to keep my job at the hospital. I'll soon have to be a homeschooling dad!
Hope this helps good Luck!

I've been working from home for nearly five years as a freelance commercial writer. I read the book The Well Fed Writer, applied it, and I had a business in six months. If you like to write, and have a niche of some sort, it's a pretty good business—I do it full time, but it could be part time vary easily.

And yes, I just started a blog.

cheers,
Angus

For a very small freelancer writting side job, check out associatedcontent.com. Pays about $4 per article that has to be atleast 400 words. You also get a percent increase in payment based on how many views your articles get.

Default A Day In The Life Of An Affiliate Marketer

Hi,

Being in the affiliate marketing business is
not that hard now with the internet at your
disposable. It is much easier now compared to
the days when people have to make use of the
telephones and other mediums of information
just to get the latest updates on the way
their program is coming along.

So with technology at hand, and assuming that
the affiliate is working from home, a day in
his or her life would sound something like this…

Upon waking up and after having breakfast,
the computer is turned on to check out new
developments in the network. As far as the
marketer is concerned there might be new things
to update and statistics to keep track on.

The site design has to be revised. The marketer
knows that a well-designed site can increase
sign ups from visitors. It can also help in the
affiliate’s conversion rates.

That done, it is time to submit the affiliate
program to directories that lists affiliate
programs. These directories are means to
attract people in joining your affiliate
program. A sure way of promoting the affiliate
program.

Time to track down the sales you are getting
from your affiliates fairly and accurately.
There are phone orders and mails to track down.
See if they are new clients checking the
products out. Noting down the contact information
that might be a viable source in the future.

There are lots of resources to sort out. Ads,
banners, button ads and sample recommendations
to give out because the marketer knows that
this is one way of ensuring more sales. Best
to stay visible and accessible too.

The affiliate marketer remembered that there
are questions to answer from the visitors. This
has to be done quickly. Nothing can turn off
a customer than an unanswered email.

To prove that the affiliate is working
effectively and efficiently, inquiries would
have to be paid more attention on. Nobody wants
to be ignored and customers are not always the
most patient of all people. Quick answer that
should appear professional yet friendly too.

In the process of doing all the necessities,
the marketer is logged on to a chat room where
he or she interacts with other affiliates and
those under that same program. This is where
they can discuss things on how to best promote
their products.

There are things to be learned and it is a
continuous process. Sharing tips and advices
is a good way of showing support. There may
be others out there wanting to join and may
be enticed by the discussion that is going
on. There is no harm in assuming what
opportunities ahead.

The newsletters and ezines were updated days
ago, so it is time for the affiliate marketer
to see if there are some new things happening
in the market. This will be written about in
the marketer’s publication to be distributed
to the old and new customers.

These same publications are also an important
tool in keeping up to date with the newly
introduced products. The marketer has put up
a sale and promotion that customers may want
to know about. Besides, they have to keep up
with the deadline of these sales written in
the publications.

It is that time to show some appreciation to
those who have helped the marketer in the
promotions and sale increase. Nothing like
mentioning the persons, their sites and the
process they have done that made everything
worked.

Of course, this will be published in the
newsletters. Among the more important information
that have been written already.

The marketer still has time to write out
recommendations to those who want credible
sources for the products being promoted. There
is also time to post some comments on how to be
a successful affiliate marketer on a site where
there are lots of wannabees.

Two objectives done at the same time. The
marketer gets to promote the product as well
as the program they are in. Who knows, someone
may be inclined to join.

Time flies. Missed lunch but is quite contented
with the tasks done. Bed time….

Ok, so this may not be all done in a day. But
then, this gives you an idea of how an affiliate
marketer, a dedicated one that is, spends the
marketing day.

Is that success looming in the distance or what?
