| Again, here I am. I haven't sorted this yet. To keep it short, here goes a simple outline. In about 6 months I'll be finishing High-School. I'm a top student, so everyone is pushing me into Law School, principally my mother (this was her unfulfilled dream). Problem? I don't want to keep on studying. OMG!! Why don't you want to keep on studying? Really, I don't want to become a lawyer, or a magistrate, or something. I don't want to spend 4 years or more of my life learning irrelevant subjects, and forty years plowing through a mind-numbing work. So what the heck do you want?! I want to write fiction. I want to live life, to travel, to make friends, to love people, to enjoy every single moment of my life. I want to blow up. Then write about it. In all honesty, I can't see how shall I choose my life path after High School is over. If I don't have a clear-cut definition of what I want to do, I'm sure I'll go default and go to Law School. I understand some of you will say to look into other courses: I have. There's not a course on "living life awesome" as Tynan, from other blog would put it. I want to enjoy life and chase what truly matters to me, definitely not a title or a sacrificed life towards money. I feel like I'm in the middle of a road; I want to get to the other side, but there's a big truck (Law School & Conventional Living) coming so fast in my direction that I freeze. I'm going to be ran over. Help? ._. |

| You are the ultimate authority in your life. Having to make such decisions is a wonderful thing, since it gives you the opportunity to express your free will. You don't even have to be correct. You don't know what the future holds anyway. But you already know how you feel in the present, and that is all the guidance you really need.

| There are a lot lawyer who hate their job. I doesn't make sense to become one of them when you don't want. But I already said that a few month ago didn't I?

| 6 months is a lot of time. It is your choice. Don't freeze, use this time; search and experiment. Step back. Relax, let your mind calm. Observe yourself, explore your inner cravings, as even smallest ones can be a clue for your choice. You might want to try this book Amazon.com: Is Your Genius at Work?: 4 Key Questions to Ask Before Your Next Career Move: Books: Dick Richards It has many good exercises to find your genius and decide which career to pursue. Take all what I've written here with a grain of salt - I cannot say I have a fulfilling career yet, and I haven't tried the examples from this book yet. It's just my 2 cents. Quote:

| You're mother is probably going to skin me alive for suggesting this, but maybe you shouldn't go to college. Not right away, that is. Maybe it would be better if you travelled or maybe just got a few odd jobs for a year or so and allow youself some time to do a bit of soul searching. if you get out of your current 'rut', you might encounter some new people with jobs that make you think "hey, I want to do that!". I would also suggest that you get out of the house and away from your mother for a while. How can you think about your future if she's constantly trying to push you? You don't need that kind of background noise right now, and the longer you stay, the bigger the chance you'll buckle under the pressure. Get out while the getting is good! |
