Default "how to afford anything"

I just came across this financial advice on a photography site I frequent, found it useful, and thought I'd share it:

How to Afford Anything

The tip he gave about bidding on time share rental auctions is very good advice. So many people buy stuff (full price) because they intend to use and then don't. Then they will rent/sell if for 1/3 to 1/2 what its worth.

Did you know that many people sell their PD or other training seminar packages at a discount as well. You'd be surprised what you can get really cheap if you know how to search for it. Hey, maybe I should go online right now and bid on my next vacation

Exactly. As a result I've been able to buy materials that I would not have been willing to check out at full price. Also when you buy something used you can often resell it for close to what you paid for it, making time your primary expense.

Go for it. I often stay at the home of someone I know for free or homesit, and will actually be dropping by someone's house tomorrow morning to see about looking after it for a few months this summer Also, if you travel light CouchSurfing might be worth looking into.
