| Hey all. I've decided that 2008 is going to be the year in which I radically improve my sales skills. Therefore I'm in the process of looking at what resources I can employ in reaching my goal. I'd love to hear which books, audio courses and live events you've found most helpful. Also, to give a little context, the most important arena in which I'll be utilizing my sales skills will be in raising money for companies that I'm involved with. Prospecting isn't as a big of a deal since I pretty much know who the candidates are to fund the biz. The more important things are arousing interest in the other person and closing the sale. Looking forward to hearing any suggestions!

| JB - I'd like to recommend you check out TSTN | The Success Training Network. TSTN is an internet televsion network that you can subscribe to either monthly or annually. There are over 400 shows that cover topics such as Sales Training, Communication Skills, Self Improvement, Health and Fitness and Real Estate. The faculty includes people like Zig Ziglar, Tom Hopkins, Tom Peters, Stephen Covey, Brian Tracy, Jim Cathcart, Denis Waitley, Dr. David Cook, Don Hutson, just to name a few. The beauty of the network since it is internet based is you can watch as much as like as often as you like. My company Splash Media produces and broadcasts TSTN. I don't want to use this forum as advertisement but since you asked, I wanted to at least tell you about the network. I would welcome any comments you might have. You can sign up for a free trial. Best of luck in continuing your sales development. After 35 years in sales, you never stop learning and developing. |

| The site initially looked well done and interesting, but when I clicked on some of the talks to learn more, of the first 3 two said "coming soon". I wouldn't want to subscribe now and wait for them to become available. |

That being said, most quality networks or coaches will have plenty of free stuff for you to see if you even like their style or message.

| If that's the case, there are 2 books I would like to recommend. I have written book reviews for each and you can find them here: FAQs on Marketing answered by the Guru of Marketing Philip Kotler Influence: Science and Practice Good Luck!
