Default Post your blog, and talk about it

It seems like a lot of people on this board have their own blog. I was thinking it would be good to have a thread where we mention our blog and explain a bit about it. It could also be a great opportunity for cross-promotion.

So post your blog, and try and check out as many other blogs in this thread as you can (if you really don't know what to check, try checking the previous 5 blogs posted).

Anyway I'll get it started...

My Blog is called "geardos", and I focus on music production, sound recording, and reviews of equipment. Basically my aim is to inform bedroom musicians, podcasters, and casual multimedia producers (as well as "prosumers") on different types of equipment, using an honest review system. It's a bit of a niche but I noticed that when you search for a review of equipment you usually end up just getting merchants who are selling the equipment instead of honest reviews. I also do video reviews which I host on youtube (and embed on my page).

My goal isn't to make a lot of money but I intend to one day do professional reviews as a computer journalist. Also, in the short term, getting some adsense revenue would help me with my university costs.

So that's Geardos. Check it out. Now post your blog and talk a bit about it, and I'll check it out! Lets see what all the smart people on this board have been creating...

Hi Scotty.

I just started my blog yesterday so be warned, its still in its infant stages. The link is in my sig. I would like to develop it into a useful resource for younger people to learn about financing and personal growth. I can't believe how many of my friends are launched well into their careers and still remain clueless about financial matters.

My blog will chronicle my journey from being in debt, to being fabulously debt-free and investing wisely. Perhaps it will serve as an inspiration for others -- like my lazy friends who I love very much

Ohh, and my bf is a musician. I think he'd find your site rather useful. He's always buying new nicknacks for his studio. I'll definitely pass it along to him. Thanks for sharing!

I have two blogs at the moment. The first is a personal finance/investing blog and the second is focused on programming and poker. I am also working into some blogging communities, with the MyDogLoves vegas site being the first of several that my wife and I have planned.

Default Love, Laugh, Learn, Live

My blog, .love.laugh.learn.live., has been an experiment over the past few years having content on a variety of things that interest me, primarily in the fields of mind/body/soul exploration. Traffic has been growing lately and I am still refining what I want to focus on as well as improving my writing. I have been wishy washy with it, but, then again, there are at least 150 posts in just a year. Once I've finished my Master's in Management, I am going to focus more on building a passive income stream from writing a blog that is very helpful to people. Let me know you stopped by if you can. Thanks!

Many Blessings,

Michael

That's a nice blog, Cassie. I can't wait to see updates. The title of your blog sums up parts of my position as well.

Your blog looks interesting as well, Scotty... If I weren't tone deaf, I'd definitely use your site to find some much needed insight.

As for my blog, it is askTrina.com, and is currently misnamed... I started the blog out with the intention to write down answers to random, rarely answered question such as why the sky is blue, or why the coppier jams when you're in a hurry. (Sorry, but the answers to those questions aren't there anymore, I had a server crash and learned the hard lesson of why to backup your information.) It was named after my wife, who despite her relative quiet on this board, is an avid debator, and has been regarded as an authority on many random subjects. I decided to piggy-back on her popularity, but the subject matter took a different direction.

Right now, it is a place for me to share some of my deeper thoughts, as well as a couple of my lighter experiences. I don't expect my visitors to agree with me, but I do want them to think the hard questions. Some of my favorite posts are the ones on Evil (Covers the nature of the universe, or at least my interpretation of it), Why (the story behind my life purpose), Peace (How to have peace in your own life), and the upcoming Practice Makes Imperfect (link to come when I finish it). Alternately, you can just click on the link in my signature, and read from there.

Edit: Evidently I need to type faster... Two people posted in the time it took me to write a reply. :P

My blog is the reason why I don't post as much in game development forums as I used to. I figured that it was quite possible that what I had to say wasn't interesting to people, and I was possibly polluting what would be otherwise good conversations. I started my own blog on indie game development almost two years ago, and I found out that I had a following. B-)

Ooooh! I like this thread!

My blog is about living the life of a professional singer and everything that goes along with it. It is something I am deeply passionate about, but which also gives me hours of fun. I never run out of stuff to write.

Okay ... off to look at your blogs!

Screw what my blog is about. Check the Snap Preview feature I just put on it. Just hover over any external link and then tada!

Actually, it might be slow to put into cache. But once it's in there and you hover over the link again....tada!

I almost hate to reply to this one, because I feel like I've advertised my blog in just about every post I've made here since joining. But, anyway, I'm a professional stock trader as of this year, and I wanted to make a blog geared towards helping people get through their newbie trader stage.

I knew that, this year, I'd have a perspective that I wasn't seeing anywhere else. Most sites are run by people who build themselves up as master traders who know everything, or by total newbies who are slowly draining their accounts. I am neither of those. I'm a profitable trader that can just barely cover his living expenses, and who has a lot of hard-won trading lessons fresh on his mind. So, that's the basis for Move the Markets.

I am contemplating making a second blog on the Zen experience and finding inner peace. As with stock trading, I feel like I am just now "getting it," so I could give the same kind of newfound knowledge perspective there, as well.

I wouldn't worry about advertising here, the thread is for blatant, blatant, advertising.

I have a bunch of tabs open now and I will check out as many blogs as I can.

I've been blogging on various subject for quite while from DotNetNuke, to life as an Information Technology director as well as a lot of other things that struck my fancy for a little while. I recently acquired my name as a domain name so I thought I would follow the example of Steve P and write about stuff that I'm passionate about. One is all the inaccurate or incomplete information on the web about internet marketing, so I've started blogging on some of the topics in that area and I think I may continue. I'm not really concerned about earning money off the blog I just want to put out my view on IM and what it can mean. Hopefully I'll be able to help someone else not make the same mistakes I have made in this area. Blog link is in my sig.

Scotty if you will add some meta tags for description and keywords to your word press template then your adsense ads will b ecome more targeted. I did not see anything but PSA's when I went and I know you have some topics that have publishers in the niche area. Just a FYI.

That's weird I see lots of relevant ads... Maybe it has something to do with your location? I'll check out those tags anyway though, thanks.

I'm a newbie as well. For a long time I had been wanting to put some of my spiritual journey and experiences down in writing - maybe even publish a book. Then I stumbled across this whole world of blogging and it seemed like the ideal vehicle. Now I just need to find the time to devote to it (I work full time and have a family to boot).

My blog focuses on the religious/spiritual from a "house-holder" perspective. A sort of every-day guy meets Yogananda. Even people that know me on a day-to-day basis don't know everything I'm up to and would be surprised to read my blog.

Michael.shearer, I'll be sure to check out your blog.

Default LifeIdea.org - effective, interesting and happy life.

Hi, my name is Mikhail Subach and I would like to represent LifeIdea.org.

I write about different tips, ideas and advices which make our life the most effective, interesting and happiest. It is about personal development, personal productivity, time, spirituality, health, motivation, planning, purpose, self-discipline, consciousness, success, happiness, goals and character. I define my life purpose to help people to find their way in their lives and do it via LifeIdea.org. It is not just a blog, but a portal with Dexterity Software has closed, where everyone is involved in generation of ideas, which makes our life effective, interesting and happy. There is also encyclopedia of common knowledge, which collects the best helpful ideas.

The most of the LifeIdea.org content is in Russian, but there are some articles in English too. All of them could be found at English category. However, you can read all content in English using Babel Fish Translation service. Just
  1. enter LifeIdea.org in 'Translate a Web page' text field
  2. select 'Russian to English' and
  3. press 'Translate' button

I would be glad if you find this site helpful.

Hi to all.

Steve managed to inspire me as well to start a blog a month ago from now. It's all about improving your everyday life mostly through wealth, relationships, goal setting, common sense, investing & entrepreneurship, psychology and basically anything that helps to improve your reality.

All that I write is separated into four categories with their own title colors. They are personal articles, link descriptions, book reviews and newsflashes. Check the about page for further clarification about the page and myself.

The goal for now is to start using adsense and possibly scoopt words starting January 2007 and turning it into a stream of income. I haven't promoted the page anyway yet so traffic is quite non-existant. I'd be very happy if those who go check it out give some rankings on my entries as they won't appear in their own pages until they get rated.

The link is on the signature.
I hope you enjoy the material.
