I have a trading blog that mainly focusing on the forex (foreign exchange) market. It started out primarily as a journal to chronicle my trades and progress, but has lately also started to contain some hints and tips, and maybe a few words of wisdom, that other aspiring traders might find useful. While most posts assume at least some knowledge of what trading and forex is all about, these posts offer some good information on some of the basics: Trading Background Keys to trading success Look! I wonder how many people's blogs make money directly - with Adsense or other ad revenue, like Steve's - and how many are there for something else. I'm not going to add Adsense; I hope people'll get to know me well enough through my blog that they'll be interested in buying something - from me. Is anyone else approaching blogging this way? |

I have two. One is particleblog, a blog about videogames as an art form and (more recently) about design methodology (I'm a game designer in my day job). The other is a writing project called American Hate which is an attempt at portrait through fiction, which I think is the most useful way of writing fiction on a blog. A lot of attempts to write novels have been made, but they fall short because to do so relies on blog readers having read everything up to date, which they generally don't do (I don't anyway). What I'm trying with AH is something of a more rounded, serial approach, more like television shows do it. The attractive thing about TV is that it delivers small stories and slowly developing characters rather than complete pieces, and I think fiction blogs are basically the same, but with shorter attention spans. I'm thinking of starting up a third blog discussing the writing of AH, specifically the serial method that I'm experimenting with, but I don't know if anyone in creation is really interested to hear about that or not. If so, I'd likely just hang that blog off of my own domain. What do you think? |

I have a Self-Help blog, a Shoe Blog, and a few blogs intended for profit along with some other sites which I don't think will be appropriate to post here. Last edited by NoelKuhl; 11-24-2006 at 07:34 AM. |

I have a flash fiction blog, linked in my sig. I post a new piece of original flash fiction every day, and I avoid continuity wherever possible, to avoid the same problems Tadhg Kelly talks about above. It's got adsense on it, but I'm making very little money through it (partly due to low traffic - internet ficiton tends not to get much, I get ten unique hits on a good day). Honestly, it's mainly a personal writing experiment to see if it's possible, and to keep my composing while I'm editing my novel. Plan is to monetize it through publishing collected works from the blog. I really want to look at something else, but I can't think of a good niche that I'm reasonably familiar with - There's personal development, but that's a seriously crowded niche. Self publishing is something I've been thinking about, but I'm not enough of an expert to really work on it. Same goes for general writing or speculative fiction writing, at least in my experience. |

The site is about the I Ching (oracle): I sell readings, an ecourse, and a few audio recordings of live events. So the commercial purpose of the blog is to 1) let people get to know me 2) demonstrate the I Ching working in practice - mostly by using myself as an example 3) introduce new products/ services/ sales as and when I create them I imagine that any time you have something of your own to sell, you don't want to dilute the message with Adsense? | |

Newbie here, too, to these forums and to blogging. Great thread, btw. I'm a former divorce lawyer, and I just quit my job this past summer to try to restore some balance to the force. I'm working for myself doing coaching, consulting and speaking about the People Side of Business: management, leadership, and career. My blog is at Erik Mazzone’s Blog. Thanks for checking it out! |

Just in time for my third anniversary today! I started my blog three years ago while I was living in London as a way to stay in touch with family at home. It has morphed over the years, but has always been a personal blog. Originally called Leah In London, it became Leah In Chicago and is now Accidentally Jewish, but has always lived at leah in chicago|accidentally jewish I have a blog for playing the prosperity game with a few friends. It is at 1000 Dollar Experiment I also contribute to http://www.jewishgfringe.com and Shebrew Magazine. The second isn't so much a blog, but allows comments on the articles. And finally, I blog for the PR company where I'm employed. Talkshop I don't have ads or get paid for any of my blogs, but the prosperity, friendship, and opportunities have been worth more than any text ad or ad network could offer. |

Leah, I've visited the $1000 Experiment. I love the idea and I've been looking around the site to figure out how to participate. How do I participate? My blog is Balanced Life Center. The intent is to build a space that talks about balancing your life from a spiritual perspective. I think that next year, it's going to be heavy on spirituality, but I want to talk about how your life improves when you get centered and how you can get centered. Some articles that people keep coming back to include. Why I Tithe Achieve Big Audacious Goals The Smart Way Transform Your Life in 3 Easy Steps Is God All God? Serenity Prayer Experiement I recently hosted the Season of Gratitude, a 30 day project in which I talked about gratitude everyday and invited other bloggers to submit links to their gratitude posts. It's now over, but there's quite a collection of posts if you ever need a pick me up. |

You all have such inspiring blogs, I'm a bit embarresed to post mine. I have a private Live Journal blog that is just friends & family oriented. I have created a blog for my art business at Barbe Saint John-Fiber, Art & Creativity Basically I just advertise my art and talk about what I have put up for sale...not very inspiring I'm afraid! My goal for that blog in the coming year, will be to have it generate some $$ thru the various means I've read about on here other than just sending people to my webstore. I'm not computer literate so have to wait for my husband to do all the coding stuff for me. Thanks for posting all your blogs! Barbe |

My Blog's gone through several stages of reincarnation, where I tore it down, and then decided to bring it back up again. But it's a simple blog on PD, and my life, and more specifically my journey towards becoming a fourth degree black belt in Taekwondo, and in life. I must point out that this was something i did not copy from anyone else, as I can see that there are one or two more martial arts related PD blogs. However my blog is beginning to deviate from just TKD related stuff ... just pure PD these days. |

Maybe a niche but there are many readers. Some content is from the visitors as well. |

My blog at Kate Hudson's Blog started out being about how to be happier. I guess it sort of still is about that in a round about way, but it's getting to be more about my thoughts about how things are and how they should be. Ok that sounds a bit sucky, let me try again. I have loads of ideas about how people could improve themselves and the world, and I my blog is where I share them. |

Hi all, it's great to see that steve has actually set up a forum, woohoo that's so cool. I got to know his blog incidentally when viewing my friend's blog and find that his articles are very inspiring, and I do find it particularly useful as most youngsters like my friends do not think much for their future or what do they want to do, most of us are like 'take a step at a time and see how thing goes'. I do not think we should wait for something to happen then have a reaction, and I realised that this blog has attracted like-minded people who are keen to improve the quality of their lives. I have just set up a blog to introduce my country, Singapore. Please do take a look and gimme comments to help me improve. What a diverse population we have! My two blogs are both about toddlers - Lil Duck Duck is my personal one with more of his things along with the business designs, then one with 451 press with which I just provide content about parenting toddlers (and have NOTHING to do with those millions of ads placed all over the place, agh!).

Hi there, My blog is You, too, can be Happy after Bankruptcy, which is somewhat self-explanitory. As a person for whom the LoA and principles of deliberate creation resonate strongly, I had a real challenge working through my financial situation, deciding to file bankruptcy, and still staying happy. I try to write about things I can't find elsewhere. It's easy for folks to gush about The Secret when they see positive evidence of their intentions made manifest... found money, a new love interest, etc. There is more challenge in accepting that we have created the "bad" stuff, and figuring out how to change the thoughts and beliefs that lead us there. 'Nuff said. Great topic! Love & Joy |

| MyGratitudeJournal.com - Home Mine is a site about personal, private journaling... We wanted to spread the word about the benefits of living a grateful life. The Journal is also a great way for kids to learn the value of grateful living. Kids can create they’re very own journal to help them express the greatness of they’re lives. The benefits of this are staggering - A path to higher self esteem and a greater appreciation for the wonder of life. The gratitude journal makes you LOOK for positive things in your life, and in time, will lead to a more creative, healthier, happier life. |

| PeteGomez.com/blog - a blog on Conscious Living, Manifesting, and Magic using Choice. My schooling on manifestation includes identifying forms of denial in manifestations, which is what the LoA doesn't have. Some of the posters on this site are blowing gaskets because they can't understand why someone would create a reality where they are mistreated, hungry, at war, etc. It's because of the denial present in the conscience of the person doing the manifesting.... and they don't realize they're doing it. (Cuz it's not just denial, it's denial of denial of denial...) It's tricky and sometimes very hard to detect. My blog will be about tools to find the denial in our everyday lives and making corrections so that what we want is what manifests. I am a student of this stuff, and writing the blog also keeps it fresh in my mind, because when I get busy I tend to go right back to my patterns and forget I'm the creator of everything. Putting this up is a little premateur, I wanted to edit the sidebar and get a few more articles up, but I'll change it on-the-fly I guess. My first post takes a few shots at Law of Attraction. I'm not a fan of it. Subjective Reality is more where it's at. |

I run a fairly successful songwriting blog - successful in that I can't live off it but for now it pays my mortgage at least. That's a start! Songwriting Tips for Songwriters I also run a recording blog - it is newer but is starting to gain some steam. I mostly run it from the perspective of me setting up my first project studio and what I am learning along the way. Home Recording Studio Tips And last month I started a deals website that is solely geared towards musicians and music gear. I Live Music Deals From a blogging standpoint those all keep me pretty busy. I have plans for more, but I need to maximize the effectiveness of these first. Thanks, DM |

My blog, Chris Hynes's .NET gallimaufry, is a collection of tips, tricks, and snippets of code that come in useful when working with Microsoft's .NET platform, and specifically with C#. It's pretty sparse right now, as I recently trimmed out all the posts without clear technical value, but I'm working on building it back up. I'll hopefully be starting up a personal blog to talk about business, politics, etc, but have not yet. |

Well, my site Epistis.Org is part blog, part article directory. Mostly articles, though. :P It has a growing library of personal development articles on topics like thought manifestation, diet & exercise, religion & spirituality, etc. Here are a couple articles I wrote: How to Manifest your Life by Frater Epistis The Power of I AM by Frater Epistis And there are many articles from other authors. Again, the link is Epistis.Org, so check it out if you get a chance. |

What a great thread! Firstly - hats off to the moderaters and to Steve & Erin for creating a forum whereby posting links to your work is neither frowned upon nor exploited. And secondly, how great is it that so many of us are blogging now? I am so excited that blogging has become so accessible and that people all over the world are connecting! My blog is Energise for Life - which is a blog mainly focused upon health, nutrition, wellness etc. but also has a personal development slant too. I have been blogging on it for nearly a year and I have to say I have learned a hell of a lot and have enjoyed myself immensely! Probably the best thing about it though has been the relationships I have developed with other people from all over the world! The power of the humble blog! It has been great checking out all of the other blogs posted here and I am mighty impressed! Def impressed! Have a great day everyone and keep on bloggin! Ross p.s. I have blogged about you all here |
