| Sounds like what you're looking for is an "angel investor." I'm not sure where you're located but some Canadian resources are:

Part of the whole process about attracting an angel investor (or any other type of investor, for that matter) involves handing over a certain amount of control. That said, if you can find an investor that's in synch with your vision then that will probably mitigate issues before they start. How well connected are you in your local business community? That may be a good place to start.
