Default Advice needed....

I'm building a website which has the potential to generate large money pretty fast. My problem is that I'm a college student who still lives with his parents. I can't start a business from my home because my dad doesn't trust it. Should I start anyway without the legal stuff, and make some profit to show that it's profitable, and then go official? Or is there another way around ?

What do you gain by becoming registered as a business in Belgium?

Nothing, that's why I'm thinking of an LTD.

Don't I always need an adress here in Belgium too ?

The amount of people that know something about Belgium law is probably pretty low in this forum.

I don't really understand your problem, do you need to receive paper mail for your website and have a problem with your dad opening it and discovering that you run an online business?

No, my dad wont allow me to start a business in his house. If you start a business, that business needs an adress. If you are not allowed to use the adress where you are living, you have a problem. That's my situation.

If I'm starting a business I'm going to use an Ltd as law form. So Belgium law is not needed here.

But I guess I have to wait until I got my own place.

You don't need a business to get money from a website. I say start it up, and by the time you're making enough money to start a real business, you'll have enough to get your own place. No excuses!

Yeah that's right Andrew. That's what I realized. The business I had in my mind was a business with something to sell. So Therefor I needed a business. But you are so right, no excuses! I'm working on my blog now, just did the setup and designed a little logo. Now it's time to post.

No limit

The basic point of entrepreneurship is that it does not need no kind of LLC company, i had offshore LLC few years ago and it gave me only headaches... Got in debt and produced only a failure. Go on the shoestring budget, get some cool people around you and start producing!

Before all You MUST have a GOAL(and it must be powerful)!!!

Best of luck!

I think you are confusing a few concepts. I live in the US and my perspective are based on American tax laws.

** disclaimer ** I am not a lawyer or accountant ** disclaimer **

You can take the bottled water in your refrigerator and start selling them on street for profit, done, you're in business. But I doubt you'll sell enough water to be an issue to your local tax collector.

Start small and start learning. The LLC, S-Corp, C-Corp etc are legal tax structures. This is needed as you grow but not in the startup phase.

What's your goal, a website collecting ad revenue or start the next Microsoft? Going with a site then I don't think you'll need more than an LLC if that. Going the big company route, then you'll need lawyers attorneys etc, and LOTs of seed capital.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the links, but I'm familiar with Belgium business law.

That was the answer I needed!

Thanks!

I'm starting small here, and once I have the budget to start my "bigger" project I'll do it.

Thanks for the advice everyone
