Many of you have commented on creating value to earn money, and there have been concerns regarding how much to charge for your services. I would really like to read your thoughts on gift economies. Should the world move toward gift economies and away from commodity based economies? What are the implications? I find it mind boggling and fascinating to contemplate the true meaning of money. Money is so universally held in such high regard, yet who understands it well enough to explain how its value is derived? If we investigate what money really is, we will have more power over it. In fact we currently have other choices for currencies. Current national economies are based on a scarcity model. How would an economy based on an abundance model be different? Do any of you have any experience with alternative exchange systems? |
