Genuine way to make money via the internet?

Hi all

I've been searching the web for ways to make a little bit of an extra income.
But all I seem to come across is get rich quick schemes, which seem less than convincing.
I've recently started early rising, and this is giving me an extra 3 hrs a day to try and better myself, and I thought what a better way to start than earn some more money!
Within this I want to better my computer skills, which are very basic (only been using a computer for 6 months!)
I have read Steves articles on setting up and making money from blogs, but I really wouldn't know where to start.
I've also read lots about doing surveys on line, but again these seem a little too good to be true!
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Just keep in mind that while blogging does have the potential to create income, it is ALOT of work. It is definitely not a get rich quick thing. I couldn't even tell you how many hours I have put into my blog...
Many of the paid surveys are legit... I have done some in the past. But I found that they took more time than they were worth to me.
There are legitimate ways to make money out there but you have to be willing to spend time, energy, money, or all three!

Once you understand what money is, it doesn't matter whether you do it on the internet or in the real world.

Earlier, there was no money. People had to exchange their products and services directly. This required both parties to be interested in what the other had to offer. Money was invented to solve this problem so that anybody can exchange with everybody else.

Today, you still serve others but use money as the medium to exchange more efficiently.

The way to get rich is to start serving some people, then their friends, the friends of their friends etc.

The way to get financially free is to build up enough passive income streams to cover your monthly expenses. You can purchase passive income streams from your earned income (pay others to create websites, write content, sell ads etc) or you can create streams yourself (building a blog and selling ads on it).

The challenge is to find balance between the two

You have a very good question and the answer is not easy.
You need basic computer and internet skills:
- word processing using MS Word or Note Pad (typing, creating and registering a file and a folder and opening them, copying and pasting)

- emailing, browsing and searching the web via search engines, downloading and uploading files

Most importantly, making money online is almost always about selling something to many people, not just to one person. You have to locate the buyers and know what they want, get that product they want and find a way to convince them to buy it from you rather than buying it from other people selling the same thing.

The most difficult task in making money online is finding the market for a specific product. If you have a market there are many ways you can find the product they need and expose it kindly to them without being pushy!
- You can buy a product (eBook, tape, CD, MP3, business, etc.) with resell rights and resell it for profit
- You can become an affiliate and sell someone else’s products
- You can create a product yourself and put a price on it.

You can do a search online and find free information on any subject you want. Just go to Google or AltaVista and enter some key words in the search window and hit the search button. You will see many websites displayed that have information about the subject. Why not start with the key words “free advertising” for example?

Mastering advertising is the key to make money online. It deals with list building, email advertising, ezines, safelists, blogging, website submitting, article submitting, forum marketing, adwords, adsense, and more.
Combine learning how to use these tools with learning how to make money as an affiliate first. When you are able to make money as an affiliate, then you can try to become more independent by learning how to create your own websites and products.

One more thing: Giveaways are good places to get some internet tools for free. There are often associated with one time offers but with no obligation to buy. The choice is yours. See my signature for an example. You can just go through a giveaway product listing and download all the softwares you desire for free! Be wise to take mainly what you can really use for your education or for your business. Make sure to have a good active anti-virus program installed on your computer and make sure to scan the downloaded files before opening them!
