Hello to everyone, I finally have my million dollar idea. Robert Kyosaki once said: it's better to have a best selling book than a best writting book. On that note, here is my idea: I am an event coordinator. I have started working in this business this year. I have been mostly working with Brides. I want to create a magazine for Brides. And, I have no clue where/how to start. It is an innovative idea, very different from the regular Birdes magazines. I have contacted certain venues & contractors. I have a contact list for all of the wedding coordinators...but I need to find a graphic designer, photographs, model( for fotoshoot)...and what not. And of course, I have a very small budget. So, if you have any advice that you can give to me, it would be greatly appreciated! PS: I have to come out with the magazine by next spring! Happiness. |

The magazine market is already heavily saturated and there are quite a few bridal magazines out there. You may not be able to go far with a small budget if you want to do it yourself. The industry is an expensive and risky one. Your best bet would be to approach publishers with your concept. Good luck! |

Thank you for this advice. I will see to it. However, my concept is really different from what there is out there. Noone came out with it yet. I have been researching it for a while now. So, hopefully, it will go through. Thanks again. Happiness. |

Some programs I already have. But the core information, I did not get. Thank you very much! I will keep you posted! I know that I will succeed. it's my way out! Happiness. | |

It might be helpful to make an project outline and then a business plan. That will help you focus and keep your mind on what needs to be done. A sample project outline for a bridal magazine might look like: I. Funding A. Advertising B. Subscriptions II. Content A. Events B. Photography C. Dresses III. Distribution A. Bookstores B. Online That's a very simplified model, but if you add more headings and subheadings, you'll have a good plan. |

I've heard of websites or e-zines going to full print at later times. Maybe that is something you could contemplate the budgets for. I'm just "assuming" and I could be wrong but would an e-zine be lower budget??
