I don't see why that couldn't work, but what have you done specifically in the real world to make it happen? How many girls are you approaching every day? That will help you just as much, if not more, than any law of attraction method.
By the way, I would definitely get out of there as soon as you can like you mentioned. Negative people are not worth hanging around, even if they are family.
