I only read the first post...

There is no reason you can't have everything you want in life.

What I've found in my journey that often times parent's opinions seem to keep people from finding the right person for them. I kind of have the feel that's happening with you.

Another thing..... I have a parent like that, I don't share things with him that I know he doesn't agree with. I know nothing I say is going to make him change his mind, so why bother.
