I have my own ideas about how LOA etc works. But in this post, what I propose is not those ideas. What I propose is a framework for everyone, whatever his degree of belief in LOA is, to consider and assess all the various theories about and versions of LOA -
whether you're talking about:
Abraham-Hicks; Fred Alan Wolf; The Secret; Deepak Chopra; Silva Method
Prakamya Siddhi; Neuro-linguistic programming; the reticular activating cortex
buddhist teachings on the nature of reality; angel guides; the Seth material; subjective reality; Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich"; creative visualisation; positive thinking; Wayne Dyer; Christian prayer; or whatever else.
My framework goes like this. Consider your desired outcome. Consider the cost of a conventional, "non-LOA" approach towards achieving that outcome. Then consider the cost of a LOA-based, "magical" approach towards achieving that outcome.
Then consider whether both approaches are compatible, and whether they can be used in conjunction or not. Next consider the potential losses / damage you might suffer, if either or both approaches were to fail.
Also consider the probability that you will achieve the outcome if you used the conventional, non-LOA approach. Also consider the probability that you will achieve the outcome if you used a LOA-based, "magical" approach alone. Next consider the probability that you will achieve the outcome if you used both approaches together.
Once you do all of the above, I believe that you will quickly see logical, sensible ways to apply and experiment with LOA (or "positive thinking" or "Silva Method" or "IM" or "goal-setting" or whatever you want to call it).
What you will see is that in most scenarios, there will be no harm and potentially a lot of benefit, in using a LOA technique. For example, Abraham Hicks recommends doing a "creative workshop" every day, and spending about 15 minutes on it, no more, writing or thinking or doing some kind of visualisation about your goal.
So the maximum loss to you is 15 minutes of your time per day. The workshop exercise will cost you no money, will not expose you to any potential physical danger, and can't harm your health. At worst, you will lose 15 minutes of time per day, and achieve no benefit out of the exercise. At best ..... well, at best, the entire universe will twist and turn and bend itself to make your intention come true very shortly after.
