Mallie, it was so gratifying to see your post about giving thanks. I've found that it is the FASTEST way to convert inner intentions and desires into actuality, especially when one stops to consider that our being able TO pray, or our being able TO give thanks even occurs AT ALL.
Without God, Who is Life, Itself, could we do either ?
Sometimes what we ask for has been right under our noses all the while. Or sometimes it takes a change in perspective to attain that which we think is beyond our grasp, though it may really be right at our fingertips (when we are ready to see it).
"When you pray believe that what you have asked is yours. It is done unto you as you believe."
I've found that it helps me to substitute the word "KNOW" for "believe". Why ? Because it's not a matter of "if" our prayers are answered. It's a matter of "when" we are ready to accept that which has always been ours.
The solutions we seek PRECEDE our need...exactly like the availability of air (answered prayer) precedes our need to breath it (prayer request).
Your post reminded me that however our answers come, we can give thanks in as many different ways as there are ideas in our heads, including LIVING our thanks, as a gift that KEEPS ON GIVING back.....in a life-long "Thank You", freely given....
.....to the One who created both air and our ability to breathe (or to give thanks, or to pray).
I thank you for reminding me of the importance of breathing gratitude into the life of my prayers... |
Hi Guthrio,
Thanks for your post! You also reminded me of a saying even from Jesus and that is "Whatsoever ye ask for believing - ye shall receive." Gratitude helps to pull the I can't have it or or I don't have it in my life into a more accepting attitude.
Remember, God can only do for us what he can do thru us - meaning thru our thoughts and beliefs.
There is another saying, "It is the fathers good pleasure to give you the kingdom and it should be your good pleasure to receive it. We can receive it by focusing on gratitude, positive beliefs and thoughts that what we want is possible to have.
