Learning mnemonic tricks like peg lists, link methods, associative methods for name/word recall, and learning foreign languages is VERY VERY good for memory, at least for mine.
Mnemonic tricks not only give you fantastic tools to remember stuff but it also improves that part of the memory that i call "natural, core memory" which is the memory that's able to see things like numbers and memorize it even without the use of mnemonic devices. This memory is also good for remembering where you left something like your keys, reading texts with more recall, and much more.
