Protein can only be utilized when healthy fats (esp polyunsaturated fats) are present. As far as i know, cooked meat is a poor source of unsaturated fats as the fats get damaged by heat. Try organic raw nuts (eg walnuts) or supplements with both N-3 and N-6. (
